is he alive or dead? the intro says he's dead but the history doesn't mention his death at all --141.149.197.106 02:29, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Hasn't Cable been depowered in his current title, as well as freed from the Technovirus? Luis Dantas 16:58, 4 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Relationship to Spider-Man

Am I the only one that remembers the few issues where Nate teams up as a friend to Spider-Man to help him out on christmas and then later with a super charged Electro. Maybe just a little mention of their friendship would be nice. User:002KFlash052

[edit] Relationship to Cable

Genetically they should be closer to "brothers" rather than "twins", eh? Shareing the same parents is not enough to be twins, you need to have identical genes to be "identical twins", and you need to share the same womb at the same time to be "fraternal twins". I guess that the multiple universe stuff gets in the way of everything. j-beda 12:07, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

Nate and Cable are half-brothers. Madelyne Pryor was a different person to Jean Gray. Genetically weird situation, but not full brothers.Hoshidoshi 20:00, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

Considering Maddy was a clone of Jean, that would make the genetic material the same between them as well. 192.249.47.11 (talk) 19:39, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Omega-Level Mutant?

Is he an Omega-Level Mutant?

It seems kind of strange that he is so powerful even compared to Jean Grey but yet is is not listed as an Omega-Level Mutant

Considering he died before the whole Omega-Level power rating I'd say he was. Considering Moria declared his power rating was on par with the Phoenix Force (before they altered the Phoenix Force origin... again). Dstorres

Stating 'X-man' is an Omega is still speculation though, regardless of how well reasoned that statement may be. Thus it wouldn't be reporting a fact by placing it within this article.Cerulean_flame

I have to agree. Even if it's reasonable to assume that X-Man is an Omega-level mutant, unless it's outright stated in the comics and canon, he's not. --CBG

It has been, check the Omega-Level Mutant page, at the bootom of the list.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.44.20.21 (talkcontribs)

I checked out the Omega page, and simply saying "Stan Lee and other sources have said so" is not acceptable. You need to provide a reliable source that can be verified. CovenantD 03:26, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "Equitant"

I just want to complement whoever came up with the word "equitant" in the introduction. I just looked up the word, and it is a wonderful solution to the brother/twin/clone quandry.

[edit] Code Name

We really should mention that Nate was very rarely actually called "X-Man" within the comics, and for that matter I'm not even sure how the name ended up being used in-universe at all. Nate certainly never referred to him as such. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.203.205.251 (talkcontribs) .

Dunno. What makes it worse is that the first time it was really used in-comic (the second Astonishing X-Men mini) was scripted by Terry Kavanagh... who wrote most of the X-Man series. Never understood what the hell was going on there, especially since TK still didn't use it in Nate's own book even after that. - SoM 22:37, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
Reed Richards referred to him as "The X-man" during the Onslaught crossover. 82.22.187.40 13:00, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Too long

The History section is way too long, particularly the first and second subsection. Someone should either split them into further subsections or delete some of the superfluous information. It's almost as his entire history, issue to issue, is recorded. It is too much to read in one section. Xanthi22 01:06, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Joe Quesada's Comments on Possible Revival

"On the notion of a possible revival of the character, Marvel Comics, and Editor-In-Chief Joe Quesada has stated that while Nate Grey is a great character, the sheer complexity of his history would be too hard for new fans to understand (although a revival as a supporting character, as opposed to the star of his own book, is not out of the question)."

[edit] Vandalism

Undid vandalism by 196.207.40.212 who claimed Nate Grey was gay, went clubbing with three boys instead of girls and had been resurrected. Gaunt Man 19:01, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
