[edit] Cheating, etc

It happened, but it didn't get that much local news attention. There was another cheating scandal in 2005 as well, which got more attention. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thecrypteasy (talkcontribs) 01:37, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

The edit summaries and edits by Monkeyking123 appear to be very clearly fabrications, so reverting them was correct.

The cheating "scandal" mentioned also seems to be a complete fabrication. That said, there was a cheating scandal where 35 (not 22) students were copying answers from a web site that had the answers to the particular test they were taking. It appears this would have happened in 2005 or before, and there are citable sources on the web for this, such as Teacher Magazine, and I'm sure various national news articles to be found with some digging.

I don't really know that this scandal would be worth mentioning here, since it doesn't appear to be so much a case of a bad thing about this school as a bad thing about teaching and learning in general, and it just happened to occur here.

In any case if someone wants to add this (I won't, I have a personal policy of not adding tabloid information to articles), please do it with at least two citations, or it is likely to get removed as uncited negative information. Loren.wilton (talk) 06:04, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

I just deleted this just-added material:
  • In 2008, the school was surrounded by controversy when a group of twenty-two students in an AP Language and Composition class formed a cheating ring by stealing copies of tests and distributing them through e-mail. Students coined the scandal "Operation Bonzai" as a reference to one of leading members of the ring. As a result of the scandal, several students received referrals and all students previously part of the National Honors Society were dismissed. The incident has received considerable local media coverage in papers such as the Ahwatukee Foothills News and the Ahwatukee Republic.
I checked the Ahwatukee Foothills News, which does have many articles about MPHS, and there was nothing there about this purported incident. Editors should not restore it unless there is a reliable source for it. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 05:14, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Length

This article used to be 3x longer, what the heck happened? Thead64 (talk) 01:44, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

A whole lot of unreferenced contentious information was removed. Sarcasticidealist (talk) 07:28, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
More like a whole lot of truth was removed, amirite? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.35.45.185 (talk) 01:33, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
Hmm...no. Redrocket (talk) 01:55, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
I'm not sure. I'd have to check the sources. Sarcasticidealist (talk) 01:35, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
