Morvant

Morvant is a town in Trinidad and Tobago located east of Port of Spain and west of Barataria. Morvant, originally a housing scheme, the community also has, like Laventille, its share of slums and shanty-towns. It is a neighbour with communities such as Laventille, East Dry River and Belmont. Crime has been on the rise in this area where many gang murders have taken place due to a gang warfare that has been going on in the last couple of years. Also in Morvant there is Paradise Heights, which is a "Projects" like apartments homing place where buildings are lettered from A-E building.
Morvant is located in the southern foothills of the Northern Range. The Lady Young Road borders Morvant on the north and east and divides the community from Mon Repos on the northeast and Barataria on the southeast. At the very north of Morvant is the community of Belmont.
The Lady Young Road does not border Morvant, rather it passes through it.
