Montserrat is a neighbourhood located in the east of the Buenos Aires Autonomous city.

The district features some of the most important buildings in Buenos Aires, these include Buenos Aires Cabildo, Café Tortoni, Casa Rosada, Catedral de Buenos Aires, Colegio Nacional de Buenos Aires and the Congreso de la Nación Argentina

Avenida de Mayo runs through the Monserrat district, it is one of the most famous streets in Argentina, connecting Plaza de Mayo and Plaza de los dos Congresos.

The barrio is also home to the InterContinental hotel on the corner of Moreno and Piedras streets.
