Villa Lugano is a neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Argentina, located in the West of the city. It has a population of approximately 114,000 people.

It is delimited by Eva Perón Ave., General Paz Ave., José Barros Pazos, Lisandro de la Torre Ave., Coronel Roca Ave and Escalada street.

Villa Lugano was founded in 1908, when Swiss citizen José Ferdinando Francisco Soldati decided the foundation of a town with the name of his town of birth Lugano would be fitting.

Soldati was born on 30 May 1864 in Neggio, Canton of Ticino, Switzerland, near Lugano. He bought a farm near the current location of Murguiondo street and Riestra Ave.; subdivided the parcel and founded Villa Lugano on 18 October 1908. In 1912 there lived in Villa Lugano about forty families.
