[edit] Bye Bye Boris

I remember playing that game but I sure have had a heck of a time trying to find it. It was probably on a Reasonable Solutions "Graphic-Less Games" disk. Sarsaparilla (talk) 22:01, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

I may still have that game somewhere, on a 5 1/4" disk! If I find it, I'll post it on the Internet. It must have been shareware or freeware. Sarsaparilla (talk) 22:03, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
if it was in fact an important game (as stated in the article), than there should be some information out there. Perhaps the title is in error? -- MisterHand (Talk to the Hand|Contribs) 22:05, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
It's necessary to make some assertion of importance in order to avoid issues with CSD A7. Importance is in the eye of the beholder, though. Sarsaparilla (talk) 22:06, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] C. William Hinnant, Jr. MD JD

I agree with you that this article has problems, but I did see some assertion of notability in that it's asserted he is the author of articles, etc., and thus I have declined the speedy deletion tag that you applied. However, I do urge you to use the PROD tag or submit it for Articles for deletion, whichever you think is more appropriate. I do apologize for substituting my judgment and if you have any questions or problems, I'm at your service on my talk page. Accounting4Taste:talk 22:19, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for understanding, and my apologies for causing you extra work. I'll keep an eye on the article and boot it when its five days are up, if required. Accounting4Taste:talk 22:32, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Bloody Hell

Just a friendly heads up on Bloody Hell. The article had already been prodded before, and that prod was contested, so it can't be prodded again. Feel free to take it to AfD if it needs to go (which it probably does). --Fabrictramp (talk) 22:49, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] about the deletion of article Apache papa 2.1(Part Scandal)

Hello MasterHand,

I saw you tagged my article for fast deletion and it was deleted before I can even write any explanations. What you are stating in your message is because the content is identical to the first article that was deleted. There was a problem with the first article (I got a message from Shoessss about that) and I have reedited the article according to your requirements. Therefore I request undeletion of the article as I don't agree it was identical to the one deleted previously. Please give me some advice how to proceed if I don't get it right. Thanks --Accuse La Banks (talk) 21:49, 18 January 2008 (UTC) Accuse La Banks

In order to request that a previously-deleted article be restored, please visit Wikipedia:Deletion review and follow the procedure. I haven't done it before myself, but feel free to contact me if you have questions and I'll help as best as I can. -- MisterHand (Talk to the Hand|Contribs) 22:00, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Lg barqs.jpg

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Lg barqs.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 00:04, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

I agree that this is an easily replaceable image. I'll see if I can round one up, if not I'll create one myself. -- MisterHand (Talk to the Hand|Contribs) 14:43, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Quentin&kit.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Quentin&kit.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 13:01, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale has been added. -- MisterHand (Talk to the Hand|Contribs) 14:49, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Monetary policy of the USA

At one point you had useful comments here on the AfD. The article continues, with some recent editwarring and attempts to get an RfC. If you had time to look at it, it would be much appreciated.--Gregalton (talk) 05:57, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Klinton_Spilsbury.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Klinton_Spilsbury.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 16:43, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

This image was uploaded years ago when the rules were much different. There is no valid fair use rationale for use of publicity photos in biographies of living people, so I'm going to let this one be deleted. -- MisterHand (Talk to the Hand|Contribs) 17:42, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Top 1000 Scientists: From the Beginning of Time to 2000 AD (second nomination)

I've nominated this article for deletion. It still has no sources besides the book itself, and having got hold of a copy of the book, I find that it actually makes no claims to be derived from an authoritative survey, so I see no notability. Since you've edited the article or participated in the old AfD you might like to comment. As there has been confusion about the book's actual content, I'd be happy to back up all the assertions I've made by Emailing you scans of the relevant pages. [edit] Unreleased Albums

I noticed you recently voted in AFD concerning an unreleased album. I invite you take part in the conversation here Wikipedia_talk:Notability_(music)#Unreleased_albums any input you have would be appreciated. Ridernyc (talk) 09:26, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] The Silence of the Lambs (film)

Although I mostly agree with you that it is questionable whether it is a horror film, I am not in agreement with ignoring talk page discussions. Please read the considerable discussion about the issue before overriding others' opinions with your own and without additional discussion. Thank you. Ward3001 (talk) 16:54, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

My opinion doesn't matter. The talk page doesn't matter. What matters is that the sentence isn't referenced. If it can be backed up by a reliable source, we can add it back in. -- MisterHand (Talk to the Hand|Contribs) 16:59, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Just to settle this, I added a citation. Thank you. Ward3001 (talk) 17:03, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Template:CATNAME

A tag has been placed on Template:CATNAME requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 01:43, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AceMedia

Hey, I'm not the big bad deletionist ogre some would paint me as. Just get some sourcing on this darned thing to justify its existence, OK? --Orange Mike | Talk 16:02, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

No offense intended, I just feel (after doing some checking) that the article notable enough for inclusion. I agree that it sorely lacking in secondary sources and citations. -- MisterHand (Talk to the Hand|Contribs) 16:04, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Restored PROD

Hi there - a while back, you tagged AWISSENET for deletion under WP:PROD. After 5 days, I deleted it. Today I received a request from an editor to restore the article, which I did as is customary. I'm just letting you know the article is back up; it presumably still has the same issues that led to the PROD, so if you want to go further then the next step would be to list it for WP:AfD. [edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Akaufman1.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Akaufman1.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --19:38, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Avonwalk logo.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Avonwalk logo.gif. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 13:25, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
