The following characters all play minor supporting roles in the Fullmetal Alchemist manga and anime, and are listed roughly in order of appearance. For the most part, these characters only appear in one or two episodes. Due to irregularities in translations, some names might have multiple spellings. Pinako Rockbell (ピナコ・ロックベル Pinako Rokkuberu?) lives in Risembool with her granddaughter Winry, whom she looks after since her parents were killed in the Ishbal Rebellion. Pinako is also the guardian of Al and Ed as well as Ed's Automail mechanic.
Sporting a height of being shorter than even Edward (although she was much taller in her prime around 5'6"), she is a great Automail mechanic, and is able to make a whole Automail limb in half the time it would take anyone else. It was hinted both in the anime and the manga that she was once a rather tempestuous beauty. In chapter 40, page 40, there is a picture of her as a young woman, in which she greatly resembles Winry. Dominic, an automail mechanic from Rush Valley, is deathly afraid of her, and referred to her as the Pantheress of Resembool, which goes to say her temper is even greater than that of Izumi.
Despite her hard-looking personality she is a sensitive person and cares deeply about her granddaughter as well as Ed and Al, despite her constant quarrels with Edward she still cares for him and his brother deeply. It is also later revealed she recognizes Edward and Alphonse's father when he returns to Resembool.
In the manga, Hiromu Arakawa often makes jokes about Pinako claiming to be the heroine of Fullmetal Alchemist.

Rosé is from the city of Lior in a remote region of the East. She was a devout follower of Cornello's teachings because she felt that he would use his powers to bring her boyfriend, Kain, back to life. Instead, Cornello created a talking parrot chimera to mimic Kain's voice. When Rosé discovered this, he locked her in the room with it, using the incomplete Philosopher's Stone to get it to attack her. Al saved her, and together with Ed, they discredited Cornello.
In the manga, Rosé doesn't appear again until chapter 78, when she meets Hohenheim by chance while he is in Lior and again in chapter 80 when she meets Al again. Hohenheim seems to have started working with her. Shortly afterward Hohenheim's arrival, Alphonse, Winry and others also show up, Alphonse being delighted to see Rose again. Winry and Rose later discuss their relationships with Edward.
In an omake by Hiromu Arakawa, Rosé decides to use her own two feet by becoming the leader of a bandit horde. Whether this was just made for comedic value or if it actually will manifest itself in the manga remains to be seen. However, her reappearance in recent chapters proves this unlikely.

Rosé plays a much more pivotal role in the anime. After Cornello's plan had been exposed and with her hope shattered, Rosé was forced to start over and persevere through hard times when the military intervened in Lior. Rosé was imprisoned by the military. When she is next shown, she is free, has lost her voice, and has a child. It is unknown how she got it, though it is strongly implied that she was raped while in military custody. Scar uses her as the symbol of hope for the people of Lior, referred to as the Holy Mother. Later, seeing Edward paralyzed at the sight of Sloth, Rosé gets her voice back and uses what he told her before to snap him out of it. She became targeted as Dante's next vessel with the new Philosopher's Stone. Dante hypnotized Rosé, and her baby was used by Dante to open the Gate. While she's kept with Dante in the underground city, Edward finds her dancing alone in the ballroom under the trance. While the two of them are dancing, Rosé tells Edward that she had been waiting for him. She then tells Ed that she loves him. Edward blushes and pushes her away, asking if she knows what she's saying and that they're "just friends". It is unclear if Rosé said it under Dante's "hypnosis" or genuinely loves him (in the Japanese dialogue, Rosé doesn't tell Ed that she loves him. Although, it is somewhat implied she might say it and Edward pushes her away and asks if Al was brought there).
Edward's death breaks her trance. At the end of the anime, Rosé and her child appear to have moved to Risembool, living happily with Winry and Pinako.
In the Conqueror of Shamballa she is seen in Lior and in Risembool. Her presence in Lior might have only been a visit to her reconstructed home town. She is seen in many scenes with five children, of which at least three seem to be adopted (as they referred to her as Ms. Rosé).

Cornello is a low-rate alchemist and a fraud. He uses what he thinks is the Philosopher's Stone to fool the people of Lior into thinking that he is sent by the Sun God Leto with the power to perform miracles, including resurrecting the dead. Although he uses alchemy to bring prosperity to the desert city, his true intention is to convert the citizens into a fanatical army. The Elric brothers expose him for a fraud, and shortly afterward the incomplete Philosopher's Stone becomes unstable and shatters as it tears his arm into a mass of flesh and metal.
After the Elrics undermine his plan and Cornello is no longer of any use to the Homunculi, he is consumed by Gluttony. Envy, disguised as Cornello, maintains the deception until Lior is subjugated by the State Military. In the manga, Lust tells Gluttony he'd be better off not eating a fourth-rate fraud like Cornello, and kills him herself. Gluttony eats Cornello's dead body afterwards, Lust replying to Gluttony rather annoyed "I thought I told you not to eat that".
- In Fullmetal Alchemist 2: Curse of the Crimson Elixir, Cornello is killed by being pulled into darkness by Phantom instead of being eaten by Gluttony.

He was Father Cornello's right-hand man and a devout follower of his religion. Shortly after Ed and Al's arrival in Lior, Cornello explained to Cray that Ed was in fact a State Alchemist, and was most likely in Lior for reconnaissance purposes. Consequently, Cornello ordered Cray to eliminate the Elrics in the name of their god, but he failed when a shot meant to take off Alphonse's head only revealed his empty armor. During the siege of Lior, Cray was devoured by Gluttony when he looked for Cornello and found the Homunculi instead.
Cray's skeleton can be seen in Gluttony's stomach near the end of chapter 50.
[edit] Lior Shopkeeper
This Lior Shopkeeper is a recurring character in the anime, while he only appeared in the first two chapters of the manga. He lives in Lior and owns a small outside drink bar which also appears to double as a shop due to the items seen within. He is a middle-aged moustached man who seems to know little about alchemy. He meets Ed and Al during their first visit to the city in search of the Philosopher's Stone. The shopkeeper catches Ed examining wine from a fountain, but apologies for his suspicions when they explain they are only visitors and takes them to his shop. There they learn of Father Cornello and his "miracles". Alphonse accidentally breaks the shopkeeper's radio but rebuilds it using alchemy and a basic transmutation circle. The shopkeeper at first believes Al and Ed are miracle workers but soon learns they are alchemists. The shopkeeper advises Rose to take Ed and Al to see Cornello for help, later commenting to his local customers about Rose's cheerful personality after the death of her boyfriend. He later appears, mortified by Cornello's unprepared announcement of his plans on the radios, so shocked that the shopkeeper overflows a coffee mug.
The shopkeeper returns during Ed's return visit to Lior to stop Scar from creating the Philosopher's Stone, the shopkeeper not recognising Ed because of his disguise. The shopkeeper is a big supporter of Rose when she becomes the Holy Mother. He escapes near death when several Lior civilians are killed by Sloth and Wrath.
He appears in a cameo in Fullmetal Alchemist the Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa during the reconstruction of Lior. Major Armstrong happily alchemises the shopkeeper's bar and makes it into a rather overly-decorated restaurant with a giant gold statue of Armstrong on top. The shopkeeper is so surprised he seems to break down in tears of sadness, much to the joy of Maj. Armstrong, with a fellow citizen to comfort him. His tears are embarrassment though.

She was the wife of alchemist Hohenheim Elric ("Hohenheim of Light") and the mother of two sons, Edward and Alphonse.
Trisha was a kind woman, but since her husband left without notice, she began drifting off into long dazes. Every time Hohenheim's name was mentioned, Trisha would make a worried face or hesitate.
It was unknown at the time but Trisha had been battling an unknown illness for years now. One day, her sons came home to find her lying on the floor, unable to move. She fell sick with an unknown illness after her husband left home and she died when her sons were only around 5 and 4 in the manga; 10 and 9 in the anime.
Her sons, also very talented in the science of alchemy, attempted to bring her back from the dead. In the anime the failed attempt created a Homunculus that later would resemble their mother.
In the manga, it is said that 'Elric' is the surname from Trisha's family as it is also stated that Trisha and Hohenheim were not officially married. She was shorter than her husband, but taller than most. Her hair was a light brown and she had blue-green eyes. In chapter 68 it is revealed that she is aware of Hohenheim's unnatural body, and though he considers himself a "monster", she does not; he comments that touching his children might infect them with "monster", to which she comments that "if something like that was contagious, I'd be infected already". She also tells him not to hurt himself with words like "monster". When Hohenheim informs her that he is leaving, she smiles sadly, but does not reject his decision. She also promises him that she wouldn't tell Ed and Al about his body. In the anime, she does know the secret of Hohenheim's body, as it was shown in one flashback scene where Hohenheim and Trisha were laying together. Hohenheim was seen holding his rotting shoulder as if in disgrace but it obviously didn't bother Trisha and its supposed that she knew the real reasons he left as well, which could have contributed to her illness.
Her last wish was for Edward to make her a flower ring because her husband did it before.

A member of a bandit group who hijacked a train headed towards Central City so that he could trade the safety of the passengers on board - most notably General Haruko - for the freedom of his group's leader. Originally a member of the military, he desired an Automail arm to increase his power. This use of automail for unnecessary procedure was prohibited by the State, and Bald was discharged and became an outlaw, seeking revenge on the military that disbarred him. His automail arm includes two gun barrels and a small knife blade. While hijacking the train, Bald was confronted by Edward, who disabled his arm and defeated the bandits, an exploit which won him permission to take the State Alchemist entry exam. He would later resurface in "Curse of the Crimson Elixir" inside the sewers of Eastern City, and then "Stray Rondo" to repeat the same crime, only to be put in jail yet again both times by the Elrics.
In the manga, he's actually part of rebels who against Amestris, possibly from one of the southern bordering country which area had been taken by Amestris during the war.
In the anime, the event actually is part of a flashback to before Edward became a State Alchemist. Defeating Bald allows the Elrics to take the State Alchemist examination after a grateful Hakuro refers them. In the manga, Edward is already a State Alchemist (and fifteen years old) and returning from Lior. After defeating Bald, Mustang refers Edward to Shou Tucker and his research when Edward wonders if it would be possible to alchemically construct himself new limbs.
His name is also romanized as Bard.

Like Rose, Shou Tucker also played a much more pivotal role in the anime. Tucker was formerly also known as the Sewing Life Alchemist when he was a State Alchemist. He became famous after producing a chimera that could speak, albeit only one sentence: "Give me death". The chimera eventually starved itself to death.
Tucker hosted the Elric brothers while they studied for the State Alchemist exams. Tucker was under considerable stress at this period; State Alchemists are tested every year on their accomplishments in research or their combat abilities. Tucker's position as State Alchemist and all the privileges consequent depended on his research showing fruit, since Tucker's alchemic abilities were useless in a direct battle. Pressured by his sponsor Basque Grand, Shou resorted to transmuting his daughter, Nina as an ingredient for the new talking chimera. The Elric brothers had in the meantime realized how Tucker had made his chimeric breakthroughs: the chimera Tucker created two years ago was his own wife. By the time they arrived to stop Tucker, they were too late in preventing Nina from losing her humanity. Shou explained to an enraged Ed that he would have lost Nina either way; that as a scientist, he can't help but try what might be possible. He pointed out that Ed himself attempted forbidden human transmutation.
Tucker was reportedly sentenced to death by the military, to cover up the truth of the talking chimeras and General Grand's involvement. But in reality, he was sent to the 5th Laboratory to continue his research in Grand's super soldier project. However, to get him to cooperate, Shou Tucker was given Nina's remains so he can attempt to resurrect her in his spare time. Since Nina was a chimera at the time of her death, Tucker had to use the law of equivalent exchange on himself, to filter out her non-human aspects and replace them with his own. This left him a hideous beast, with the appearance of a man crucified upon the back of a humanoid dog.
After his failed attempts to revive Nina, he joined up with the Homunculi with the promise to create a Homunculus in the form of his daughter, with his memories of her to serve as basis for her new soul. Paranoid and very unstable, Tucker joined up with anyone who could offer him the protection needed to complete his goal. He joined with Greed's group briefly, most likely on the promise that he could give Greed the immortality that Greed desired and to avoid being harmed by the chimeras under Greed, serving as a doctor due his part in their creation.
After the demise of Greed and his followers, Shou accepted Frank Archer's offer to rejoin the military under his command with alacrity. Using his new-found military privileges in return for building an army of Chimeras for Archer and the Fuhrer, Tucker used his research to create lifeless dolls in Nina's image by transmuting her remains. Learning that Al became a vessel for the Philosopher's Stone, he deceived the boy by offering to teach him how to master the Stone; in reality, he only wanted to use Al to transmute a fully-human Nina from his chimera-dolls. Though Tucker succeeded in the first flawless Human Transmutation, Sloth pointed out that Tucker's will was not strong enough to bind Nina's soul into the new body made for her. This bit of information drove Tucker further mad with his hopes shattered. Tucker was last seen drawing alchemy arrays on a wall with the Nina doll in his arms, either bent on bringing his daughter back or trying to relive the happy times before his daughter became a victim of his research.

- Before becoming a State Alchemist, Tucker worked at a gun factory. This is where the battles between Sloth, Lust, Wrath and the Elric brothers took place.

In the manga, the Elrics go to Tucker's place to study Human Transmutation after Edward has become a State Alchemist (three years after that, to be exact). Tucker gets killed by Scar, along with the Nina-chimera, shortly after the truth about his experiments was discovered by the Elrics. Tucker is perfectly sane in the manga, making him seem even more unscrupulous. He was not forced by Basque to conduct his experiments, but rather performed them of his own accord. He seemed to see nothing wrong with what he did to his wife and Nina and accused Ed of having similar desires to experiment, likening his chimera experiments to Al's metal body.

In the commentary for the movie, the voice actor for Tucker joked about how he put his children to bed:

Shou Tucker's only daughter, Nina idolized him. She was two years old when her mother "went away to live with her parents." Nina is unaware of what really happened to her, or her father's real reason for feeling so guilty for her leaving. Two years later, when the Elric brothers were living with the Tuckers, Nina was like the little sister they never had. She loved to play outside with the family dog, Alexander. Unfortunately, when her father's State Alchemist evaluation was coming up, Basque forced Tucker to do something he hoped to never do again: create another talking chimera. By fusing Nina and Alexander, he repeated the same horrible act his wife was put through, creating a chimera in constant pain. After that, Shou went slightly insane from the selfish act of putting himself ahead of his one and only child. Despite Ed's intent to restore Nina, Shou explained the fusion was perfect, so separation could harm or even kill the girl and her dog. Confused and scared when Basque had her taken to the 5th Laboratory for "treatment", 'Nina-chimera' ran away and encountered Scar who killed her out of mercy (destroying her from inside out). Her death made an impact on Edward no different from his mother's passing.
Her remains were gathered and taken to the 5th Laboratory where her father attempted to revive her in his spare time. While he managed to recreate the Nina-Chimera in a more human-like form, Shou could not recreate his daughter's soul. After being re-enlisted as a State Alchemist by Frank Archer, Shou continues to try and create a new Nina. He tricks Al to use the Philosopher's Stone to transmute the chimera-dolls of "Nina" into a fully-human Nina. The transmutation was the very first success at resurrecting the dead, but the recreated Nina remained in a comatose state, much to Tucker's horror. Even with the Stone's power, Tucker's will and alchemy skills were not strong enough to bind his daughter's soul to her new body.

In the manga, Edward learned that Shou Tucker had turned Nina and Alexander, the dog, into a human-chimera, and was horrified by the event, and attempted to beat Tucker to death, until Alphonse stopped him. Shou also seems to feel as if there is nothing wrong with experimenting on Nina and his wife to further science and accuses Ed of doing the same thing to Al. The following night, Shou has been placed under house arrest until his trial, Scar breaks in with the intent to kill Shou, does so with no effort, and proceeds to kill Nina-chimera out of pity. In the anime, Edward lives with the Tuckers when he's 12 years old and studying for the State Alchemist exam, while in the manga, he's 15 years old and is just researching biological alchemy in order to find the Philosopher's Stone. Despite the age differences in the manga and anime, Ed is deeply affected by Nina's death, going as far as quitting from the military and abandoning his quest with Al in the anime.

Mäes Hughes's wife, and Elicia Hughes's mother, she is a kind and caring person. At the time of her introduction (during a birthday party she and her husband were throwing for Ed), she was nine months pregnant with Elicia, who was born later that day. She is later seen attending her husband's funeral.
Gracia appears peripherally throughout the series and allows Winry to stay at her house when she is in Central and Sciezka to frequently visit.
Like many other characters in the Fullmetal Alchemist universe, including her husband, she has a doppelgänger, who shares her first name, in the alternate world seen in Fullmetal Alchemist the Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa. In the alternate world (our world) the alternate Hughes is in love with the alternate Gracia as well. She and Officer Hughes have a distant relationship, but Hughes advises her to remove Noah from her apartment block. Hughes eventually takes this into his own hands. Thanks to Edward's words of confidence, Hughes gains some bravery and goes to confess his love for Gracia. They are later seen attending the funeral together of Alphonse.
In the manga, her role and personality are largely the same (though when she is introduced, Elicia has already been born and is turning three years old) and it is revealed that she and Hughes met before he was sent out to the battlefield during the Ishval War. When Edward and Alphonse discover that Maes is dead, they apologize to her and feel as though they need to claim responsibility for his death. When they tell her they have no intention of continuing their quest, Gracia implores them to do otherwise her husband's death would have been in vain. Despite her sincere words, she is visibly shaken by the revelation as to why Maes died and cries and hugs her daughter once the Elrics and Winry leave.

- Her name is sometimes romanized as Glacia (Or Glacier), which could refer to the weather when Elysia was born, since it was a blizzard then. But this is only a part of the anime so it's not that likely.
- Elysia names can be traced back to "Elysium", name of place for the virtuous soul of the dead in Greek mythology. This might be foresee Hughes' fate (dead in short time (Vol 4), but his presence deeply affecting people around him, always remembered as a good guy).

A serial killer introduced near the beginning of the series, Barry is a butcher in Central's Gunzi section. He earns his moniker after killing his wife and chopping her into bits. Then, posing as a food-delivery woman (whom some theorize to have been his dead wife), he abducts various women, kills them, and ditches them in alleys. When the remains of one of Barry's victims are discovered, Ed sees the body and has flashbacks of his mother's failed transmutation, and faints. After Barry kidnaps Winry, Ed tracks him down only to be kidnapped himself. Before being saved by Hughes, Al, and others, Ed is nearly killed and almost kills Barry. Due to this ordeal, Ed realizes how small and powerless he truly is in the world, and how little he can do to save everyone he ever met. Unknown to the public, instead of being executed, Barry's soul was sealed into a skull-faced suit of armor (as with Al's body) and he became one of the guardians of the 5th Laboratory under the alias of "Number 66." The fact he no longer has a human body doesn't bother him as long as he gets to kill people. During his fight with Al, Barry declares "I kill, therefore I am," which considering the circumstances seems to be a nod to the character Den from Yukito Kishiro's Battle Angel Alita series. Den, like Barry, is a soul without a body sealed inside of lifeless armor, who, in explaining his reason for existence despite not having a form, makes the statement "I kill, therefore I am."
While battling Al, he preys on Al's insecurities until Scar shows up and destroys Barry's right arm. To escape from Scar, Barry detonates one of the many bombs in the 5th Laboratory, unintentionally releasing Greed in the process. Barry managed to ally himself with Wilson and his mercenaries, encountering the Elrics and Scar. However, after Alphonse partially shatters his face, Barry has a rather long and painful death: Scar blowing off his legs and damaging the blood seal, resulting in Barry reeling in horrific pain before exploding on Wilson's alchemy charger. His death is finalized when Scar steps on his face, shattering it.

In the manga, Barry was captured and imprisoned long before the Elric brothers ever came to Central, so Alphonse does not recognize his name when the two first meet outside the 5th Laboratory. He also killed people over a course of several years and usually killed people for an insignificant reason (one guy didn't like his meat). He didn't dress as a woman (his body is well built) and kills both men and women on sight, not at his butchery. Barry is featured more prominently in the manga: he survives the chaos at the 5th Laboratory and subsequently made a deal with Roy Mustang to help him in exchange for his freedom. He also falls in love with Riza when she shot his head off without flinching ("I love strong women, I think I'm in love!"). Later, he plays a sizable part in the jailbreak and escape of Second Lieutenant Maria Ross. While helping Mustang's gang investigate the Homunculi, he finds out that his old body is still alive. The idea of chopping himself up is a wonderful one to Barry. Enthusiastic as ever, he chases his body into a hospital to carve his lost flesh into pieces. Unfortunately he's met there by Lust, who slices him to ribbons with her finger-claws. His blood-seal survives the encounter intact, but Barry's body stumbles across his armored remains and scratches through its seal, ensuring that neither body nor soul would ever chop again. He has a brief, humorous cameo in Chapter 41, in which he has to pretend to be Roy's girlfriend over the phone.

- In episode 46, in the foreground, a woman sitting at a table in a cafe bears a striking resemblance to Barry's female disguise; some think this may be the woman he based his disguise on.
- In an interview, Hiromu Arakawa stated that Barry's wife looked almost like Lust.
- His personality is more humorous, a bit goofy in the manga. He always identifies people with his "butching" preference (he commented that "Lust is all... va-va-voom! She looks real succulent. I'd love to get my cleaver in her. Envy's kinda bony. Not much meat on those bones. Full of gristel, I'd wager", also called Falman as "Mister Tough-Meat", Jean Havoc as "Tobacco Dude", "encouraging" Maria Ross, "GOOD Missy, That's the woman I love to chop!!" and so on), much to the frustration of Mustang, and later, Falman.

Formerly the Crystal Alchemist, Marcoh was the leading researcher in the creation of the Philosopher's Stone. Tormented by the fact that his research was used in the Ishval War to kill many innocent people, he fled from his position as a State Alchemist and took his research with him to prevent it from being used for further destruction. Hiding from the military and posing as a medical doctor, he uses the Red Stone he created to help the sick.
When the Elric Brothers show up, he panics and attempts to escape, even though Ed and Al aren't there to capture him. As they run from Scar together, Marcoh reveals that Mustang was the one who killed the Rockbells. After Ed and Al battle with Scar and are left badly damaged, Marcoh is taken into military custody. Marcoh gave Edward a hint that would eventually lead him and his brother to find his research notes, which not only revealed how the Philosopher's Stone is created, but the location of the 5th Laboratory. During his time in the Führer's protection, Marcoh was confronted by Lust, who needed to make sure Marcoh didn't reveal too much information to the brothers. Marcoh is then stabbed by Lust and devoured by Gluttony. A common unofficial translation of his last name is Marco, though the author makes it very clear when, in his letter to Ed (written in English even in the Japanese manga), it is signed Tim Marcoh.

In the manga, Marcoh is spotted by Major Armstrong at a train station when the Elrics need to return to Resembool. The Elrics decide that meeting Marcoh to get information on the Philosopher's Stone is a worthwhile detour and they search for the elusive doctor with Armstrong. They discover that he has been living under the alias of Dr. Mauro in a small town nearby.
After reluctantly revealing information on where his research is located to Edward and Alphonse, Marcoh is confronted by Lust, who had been following the State Alchemists. She retrieves the same information Marcoh had given the brothers. She lets him live instead of killing him because he will be an important "sacrifice" in the future, and that she had a more important job to do (to dispose of Marcoh's research in the Library).
Marcoh is not seen again, save flashbacks that reveal his role in the Ishval Massacre, until he is captured by Envy, who tricks him by transforming into Lieutenant Breda, one of the soldiers under Colonel Mustang's command, and takes him to a cell in his Father's hideout. Marcoh fears that Father and the Homunculi will force him to continue his research, especially they have threatened that if he should try and escape or kill himself, they will destroy the town he had been living in until they captured him.
He is later found by Scar, who confronts him with his past and why he is being detained by the Homunculi. Marcoh, realizing who Scar is, reveals his true identity and asks that Scar kills him so that he will not have to work for Father nor risk the lives of the people from his town on the basis they will assume Marcoh had been killed against his will. Instead, Scar physically attacks Marcoh and forces the doctor to reveal his role in the Ishval Massacre before he would kill him. After learning about the work his brother had been doing, Scar (despite the grudge he holds against State Alchemists and Marcoh in particular) decides to help Marcoh escape so that he would aid Scar in discovering more about his brother's work. They take one of the Chimeras guarding Marcoh and alter its form to appear as though Marcoh has been killed by Scar.
Envy is convinced that Marcoh is dead, but Father is not so easily fooled. While escaping, Scar alchemically destroys Marcoh's face, disfiguring him beyond recognition. Scar decides to head north to where his brother's notes are hidden so Marcoh can help him decode them. While Scar and (former Lieutenant) Yoki divert the attention of the military, Marcoh and Mei (who has partially healed Marcoh's face with alchemy) reach a cabin where Scar's brother's notes on how to combine Amestrian and Xingese alchemy are hidden. Since Marcoh cannot read Ishval language, their research is stuck, and they need someone who understand Ishval language and reading to decipher the text.
In Chapter 71, he meets again with escaping Elric brothers, in which they didn't recognize him at first. When they speak about their knowledge about the country alchemy, a banging sound is heard, and the brothers looking out for what happened. Subsequently, he begs to release Scar for a moment, so they could finish deciphering his brother's research. Marcoh also helps convince two chimeras to join their side, as Central's ultimate plan might endanger their families.
In Chapter 79, Marcoh, along with Scar and other allies manage to lure Envy to their hideout and defeat him. By using Mei Chan's long range alchemy as traps, they manage to provoke Envy into turning him into his 'original form' and captures Marcoh by wrapping his tongue around him. After Envy taunts Marcoh by saying he will destroy the nearby town and take some young girls to make another stone, Marcoh replies that after spending so many years to make Philosopher's Stone, he learned more about how to make them than anyone else in this country (the country being Amestris), and in doing so, how to destroy them. Marcoh reveals two alchemy seals on his hands and discharges all the souls in Envy, causing the homunculus to revert to a shrimp-like creature and his true form. Dr. Marcoh collapses in the snow soon afterwards, breathing hard and covered in blood, as Scar acknowledges his victory. Marcoh's injuries are treated by Mei Chan and the group decide to leave the Slums in order to protect them from the other homunculi.
It is interesting to note that in recent chapters, when the Elrics are pouring over a map, the town where Marcoh was hiding is labelled 'Slums', implying that the homunculi did indeed do as promised and destroy the town.

Leo's younger brother. He carries a locket of his mother with him, even though it was broken and would not open. He was captured briefly by mercenaries in Central, but was rescued by Scar, Alphonse, and Edward. Rick was nearly killed during the rescue attempt, only the locket of his mother saved him. The force placed on the locket caused it to open, revealing a picture of Rick, Leo, and their mother; additionally, several small pills for the treatment of blindness were discovered inside it. Toward the end of the anime series Edward receives permission from the military to have Rick and his older brother Leo released and transferred to Resembool; however both Rick and Leo turn down the offer.
In the manga, Rick and the old man pull Scar out of the sewer in East City after Scar's first encounter with the Homunculi. They tend to his wounds until the mercenaries try to arrest Scar, then Scar leaves the slum and they are not seen again. It is implied that the fair-skinned and fair-haired manga version of this boy is half-Ishvalan (as he reassures an injured Scar that he's safe because "Mom and I are Ishvalan too!") Rick wasn't named in the manga.

A pair of serial killers who had their souls sealed into a single suit of armor (one sealed in the head and one sealed in the suit) and became one of the guardians of the 5th laboratory under the joint alias of "Number 48", assigned to kill any intruders. After being defeated by Edward, they wished him to take their lives, but Edward refused to kill them. But when he treated them like humans, the younger brother (body) made up his mind and took his own life, saying to his older brother that he was "going ahead" and that he will be waiting for his brother in the afterlife. The older brother (head) lived on to take Edward to where the Philosopher's Stone was in work before Lust killed him in an attempt to force Edward to help her.
In the manga, the older brother was killed by Lust when her lance pierces his rune, and the younger by Envy who stabs his blood rune over and over. This was so that they could not divulge information about the stones.
In an omake (a short bonus comic), the older brother is a cat lover while the younger's a dog lover, which leads them to bicker at times. However, the younger brother always wins because he actually has body parts, while the older brother only has a head.

In the English dub, her name is romanized as Marta.
One of the Chimeras that joined Greed to get revenge on the military for what they did to her. She, Dorchet, and Loa were part of the Amestris Special Forces, whose defiling of an Ishval temple and killing everyone in it was the real catalyst for the war. Her unit was sent to the 5th Laboratory to keep them quiet, under the supervision of Basque Grand. There, they became test subjects in Chimera research. Martel was fused with a snake, giving her enhanced agility, the ability to contort/move her body like a snake, and the ability to stretch her arms long distances. Despite this, Martel retained her human form, and in the anime is described as a very high quality Chimera.
When Kimblee betrayed the Devil's Nest, as Martel expected he eventually would, Greed, Loa, and Dorchet each helped her get out safely while she was in Alphonse's body. She was one of the closest to Greed and idolized him for rescuing her and the other chimeras (in the Japanese version, after his death, Martel began calling him Greed-sama instead of Greed-san as a sign of respect). She was the only chimera in Greed's gang to escape the military. Martel meets up again with Al, who had become her friend while she was inside his armor while Al was kidnapped by Greed's gang, and traveled with the Elric brothers for a time. However, Martel quickly revealed that she had always planned to take revenge on not just Kimblee for the death of the entire Devil's Nest "staff", but the military for robbing her of her humanity, and the Homunculi who set it up that way.
When the Elric brothers were taken to an outpost, she was hiding in Al's body until she saw Kimblee there with another officer. Martel revealed herself in attacking him, but fled after being hurt when Kimblee exploded the officer to kill her as Al stepped in. When that was interrupted, Kimblee did not reveal her presence to the other officers. She followed him and found that King Bradley was planning another massacre at Lior. Martel tried valiantly to assassinate the Fuhrer, but was unable to land a blow. During the struggle his eye patch fell off.
From her time with Greed, Martel knew the sign of the Ouroborus and immediately rushed to tell Al that the Fuhrer was a Homunculus. Upon seeing her, Al told her to get into his armor as she had before, to hide. Martel was able to tell the truth.
As Al absorbed this, and Martel was silent, Al realized the Fuhrer had stealthily crept behind him. Without a sound, he slid his sabre down Al's throat, and impaled Martel, unable to dodge it despite her snakelike contortions. He commented that Al no longer had to worry, the evil Chimera was slain. As he walked away, her blood seeped through the cracks in his armor, to the ground, and Al cried.
Last Words (Anime): "Al! Listen carefully--I don't have much time! You've got to tell Ed, that they're gonna turn Lior into another Ishbal! And your leader, the Fuhrer...he's a...Homunculus!"

In the manga version, Martel was never part of a Special Forces unit, and was transported to the 5th Laboratory because of her wounds after stepping on a landmine. She, like Dorchet, was not even in Ishval, but was fighting in the border war with Aerugo. She is killed in the sewers by the Fuhrer shortly after he had pinned Greed to the wall of the sewers with his swords.
She had been hiding inside Al's armor, but when she saw Bradley kill Dorchet and Loa, she used Al to choke Bradley. The Fuhrer proceeded to kill her inside Al's armor, where her blood falls onto Al's blood seal. This causes Al to regain all his memory from when he was in the Gate, and soon after, Al realizes that he, like Ed and Izumi, can also perform alchemy without a transmutation circle. Having been unable to save Martel traumatizes Al in the same way that Nina's death traumatized Ed, although she is less prominent in the manga and thus Al isn't as close to her as he is in the anime.

Because he is part dog, he can use his new-found speed along with his great swordsmanship, and his sense of smell is superior to that of a normal human. However, he is noted saying he is 'too loyal for his own good'. He was killed by the Homunculi Lust and Gluttony when he fought them to give Greed safe passage to Dante. In the English dub, his name is romanized as Dorochet.
In the manga version, Loa and Dorchet are killed by King Bradley in the sewers during the military raid on Devil's Nest. Despite knowing that they are both going to be defeated (Bradley had already injured both of them earlier), they still try to protect Greed (who was unable to use his "Ultimate Shield" because Bradley had pinned him to the wall) and Martel (who was trapped inside Al's body) and are permanently felled by Bradley's swords. In the manga, he is often used as comic relief, such as when Martel (inside Al at the time) should see him pee with one of his legs in the air, much like a real dog. He wields a hammer as his weapon and has an ability to transform into an enhanced version of himself with more bull-like aspects like horns and greater strength. He was killed by the Homunculi Lust and Gluttony (who also consumed his body) when he fought them to give Greed safe passage to Dante. In the English dub, his name is romanized as Law.
In the Manga version, Loa and Dorchet are killed by King Bradley in the sewers during the military raid on the Devil's Nest. Bido was a chimera created in the Fifth Laboratory; after escaping it, he followed the Homunculus Greed. Before his transmutation, he was a member of Martel's special ops military team which instigated the Ishval revolt. He was fused with a lizard or a gecko; this enabled him to have a firm grip on surfaces when climbing, and to use his tail as a bludgeoning weapon. He is also bald and speaks in a raspy, hacksaw voice, though it's unclear whether this is a result of the fusion or not. He relies more on the strength of others, as he flees from a military base after both he and Kimbelee fail to capture Wrath, screaming for Greed's help.
He was first seen when Greed dispatched him to retrieve the Elric brothers; Greed wished to obstruct the other Homunculi pursuing them. Bido failed in that mission, but he reported about the discovery of the new Homunculus Wrath, and his ability to perform alchemy; Greed intended to obtain near immortality by having himself alchemically bound to a physical object like a suit of armor- much like Alphonse Elric (this would prove to be an unlikely feat as Homunculi lack souls in, at the very least, most senses of the word). Bido is often seen near Kimblee and seemed to be the only one in Greed's group to trust him, though it was more likely he just likes watching things "go BOOM." Bido died during the military raid which executed Archer's order to "sanitize" the Devil's Nest bar before Kimblee snatches the sack which holds Greed's skull, implying Kimblee murdered him. Though in the next episode, Bido can also be seen floating face-up in the sewer when the military chased Greed and what remained of his group of chimeras.
Bido is possibly one of the more comical members of Greed's gang, as he suffers the most comical pain. In the English dub, his name was never used, although in the credits he is cast as either Bido or Lizard Man. In the Conqueror of Shamballa, the members of Alfons Heidenreich's rocket crew looks suspiciously like Greed, Dorchet, Roa, and Bido.
In the manga, it is revealed that Bido was not inside the Devil's Nest during the military assault. He returns to find the street cordoned off by the military and guesses what is going on and escapes. After a long absence from the manga, Bido reappears to witness Bradley's men questioning Mason about Izumi's whereabouts, stowing away on the underside of their truck, possibly hoping to learn what became of Greed.
This was later proven true when he found himself running through the underground tunnels. However, in the tunnel he flees from a large amount of chimera and then falls down a hole to come face to face with the reincarnated form of Greed, in the body of Ling Yao, who kills him after a short chase.

Scar's mentor from Ishval, a holy man. The two got separated when Kimblee attacked the group of refugees of which they were a part. Upon learning of his student's "crusade" against State Alchemists, he counsels him on the teachings of Ishvala. In the anime, he says, "Even in the darkest of suffering, a man can sleep. But for the man who inflicts the suffering, his mind cannot rest. Ever." In the manga, he explains "Revenge only grows seeds of revenge," (which Scar didn't care for much until he found Winry pointing a gun at him, intending to seek revenge for her parents' deaths, as Scar was their killer in the manga). He later speaks on behalf of the Ishvalans at a refugee camp when Mustang and his men arrive looking for Scar. Scar's master was one of the few survivors of the covert op of which Martel was a part, and which triggered the Ishval massacre. He is never mentioned by name in the anime. He does exist in the Manga because he can be seen in a cameo in Chapter 58 for a brief period of time, and in chapter 72 in flashback when he stating that although they may (and should) not forgive the damage Amestris done to the Ishval, but they must not surrender to the hatred, and endure it, to sever the bonds of hatred, since they're human beings.

The husband of Izumi Curtis, an enormous muscular man who works as a butcher in the town of Dublith. He is a man of few words and does not question the judgment of his beloved wife, even after she tried to resurrect their infant son when the child died.
Like Izumi, he cares deeply for the Elric brothers and also dislikes the military. In the manga, when greeted by Fuhrer King Bradley, he ignores the Fuhrer's inquiries and offer for Izumi to become a State Alchemist, but ends up befriending Major Alex Louis Armstrong in a muscle flexing contest. Strangely, in one episode of the anime, he is seen sleeping with both eyes open.
He also becomes friends with Winry Rockbell.

A resident of Rush Valley, she lost her legs and right arm at a young age in a train wreck, but Dominic takes pity on her (in the form of social outrage) and gives her free automail legs and an arm. Thanks to these legs, she can run at great speed and jump great lengths. One leg also conceals a cannon, while the other has a long switchblade.
She takes Ed, Al and Winry to see Dominic at Winry's wish. Paninya had made a living out of pickpocketing tourists in Rush Valley, but after a talk with Winry she realizes that being a criminal would defeat the purpose that Dominic intended for her when he gave her free legs. She is currently working legitimate odd jobs around Garfiel's shop.
In the anime she also has an automail arm, which gets damaged in an arm wrestling contest. It also appears that Dominic adopted her after she lost her limbs in a train crash. No mention was made of what she did for a living, though in the chase with Edward, she was taking his pocketwatch to a pawn shop. However, this was most likely Winry's idea for Ed cheating in an automail contest. Since she is seen in Dominics shop, it can be assumed that she might work for him.
She was seen at the end of the anime, helping Winry perfect her skills.
In the manga the only automail she possesses is her prosthetic legs. It is noted that one leg has a Carbine rifle built into it by Dominic and the other a blade. She pickpocketed from tourists to try to pay back Dominic, who lives out in the mountains of Rush Valley with his son, his wife, and herself, for her automail. Dominic always refuses to accept her stolen money. After reforming her ways, she becomes a roofer and Dominic begins to reluctantly accept her money.

An old reclusive automail master. His lifelong dream was to build automail with hidden cannons inside them, and he had the opportunity to do just that with Paninya's automail legs. Winry begs him to let her be his apprentice, but he defers her to Garfiel instead, even though Winry helped deliver his grandson.
It is noteworthy that when he found out Winry was the granddaughter of Pinako Rockbell, he flipped out, as apparently he has some memories about the "Pantheress of Resembool" that he would rather forget ("Leopardess of Resembool" in the dubbed anime).
In the anime, no mention is made of any desire to build hidden cannons, though he did build one into Paninya's right leg. He refuses to sell an automail arm to a young rich man because it is an arm for a fighter, and the young man does not really need it. At the end of the series, he is seen helping Winry train to become an even better mechanic.

An assistant at the Curtises' butcher shop who is more outspoken than his employer. He has worked for Sig and Izumi at least since the Elrics initially became Izumi's apprentices. During Izumi's challenge to survive on Yock Island for one month without using alchemy and to discover the meaning behind "All is one, one is all", Mason was the monster who kept attacking the brothers. Izumi had ordered him, in disguise, to make sure nothing happened to the boys during their stay on the island. Ironically, Mason nearly killed the two brothers in the process.

In the anime: He fell in love with a woman who died of illness before they could get married. Going against his people's taboo, he attempted to revive his lover with alchemy. He is shown bleeding profusely from the abdominal area immediately after attempting the transmutation, which suggests that he lost some of his internal organs during the transmutation process in the same way that Ed lost an arm and leg and Izumi lost some internal organs. The failed attempt created (somewhat ironically) the Homunculus Lust, and he was exiled from Ishval.
Years later, Scar's elder brother returned when the military attacked Ishval and tried to help the Ishvalans by creating the Philosopher's Stone. However, he used the dying people of Ishbaal as the ingredients while using his own body to house the Stone, though in the middle his mind 'collapsed' and is seen with tears in his eyes Later, after Kimblee fatally wounded Scar, his elder brother transferred the "still-incomplete" Philosopher's Stone into his right arm, then ripping it off himself and grafting the limb onto his brother with the last of his strength. This saved Scar's life at the cost of his own.
In the manga:
Unlike his anime counterpart, Scar's elder brother has nothing to do with the creation of Lust and that he first became interested in alchemy during a trip to Xing. He seems to only be tattooed along his arms and he was never exiled or insane. His reason for studying Alchemy is not to revive humans, but because he wants to find the way that Ishbaalans and Amestrians can live together in peace and happiness. He believes in the philosophy "One is All, All is One" in the sense that if humans think positively, the world will flow in a positive way. It is known that the tattoos is a mix of the alchemy of Xing (Rentanjutsu) and Amestris (Renkinjutsu) and resembles the tattoos of Ishbaalan warrior priests. His studies in alchemy are openly known to others as seen in chapter 58, where he was reading a book in front of a group of people (with some priest/monks/warrior priest around). This implies that in the manga, Ishbaalans are more open-minded to the idea of learning alchemy.
In chapter 60, Scar's elder brother apparently finished his alchemic research and the product is two tattooed arms. In an explanation to Scar, he tells him about the three parts to transmutation: analysis, deconstruction, and reconstruction. He goes on to explain that in his personal preference, he made right arm capable of deconstruction and the left arm of reconstruction, which defies the need for a transmutation circle, as well as explains why Scar is only capable of deconstruction.
In chapter 61, Scar's elder brother, Scar, and several other Ishvalans are attacked by Kimblee, who uses the power of his Philosopher's Stone to destroy a very large section of the city. Scar is left dying with his right arm blown off, so Scar's brother sacrifices his life by using his left arm to transmute the right arm onto Scar's body. When Scar awakens and learns what happened, he goes berserk, killing Winry's parents in his rampage.
In chapter 72, he is shown in the flashback, talking with his brother, that even though they may hate Amestris for what they had done to Ishval, but if the hatred continues, then this world will be filled with the flow of hatred. But if someone dare to stand up and endure the hatred, and growing the positive energy instead, then the flow will be changed into the flow of positive energy.

Selim is the son of Führer King Bradley, whom he looks up to. It is not known how much affection Bradley has for his son, but when, in the manga, Mustang questions Bradley on how Selim would react if he ever knew the truth, Bradley remarks that Selim "cannot be my weakness".
In the anime:
Selim appears in the final episodes in King Bradley's household as his son. Just as the final confrontation between Pride and Mustang occurs, Selim brings forth his father's "treasure", a skull belonging to his corporeal body, making him vulnerable to Mustang's attacks. Severely weakened, Bradley nevertheless chokes his "son" and breaks his neck for inadvertently enabling his demise, and is then immolated by Mustang. Selim's body is carried out of the Führer's burning residence in Roy Mustang's arms.
In the Manga:
Selim wants to meet Ed, who he admires greatly and refers to as the "tiny alchemist Edward-san". Initially, Al believes that Selim is proof that Bradley is human (because Homunculi cannot reproduce), but Knox informs everyone that Selim was in fact adopted. Before the Elric brothers depart for the northern border of Amestris in pursuit of Mei Chang, they run into Selim in the National Library. Selim is delighted to have finally met the Fullmetal Alchemist and his brother and intends to boast about it to his father while the Elric brothers are left wondering if Selim and his mother are aware that the Fuhrer is actually a Homunculus.
When Riza Hawkeye visits the Fuhrer's mansion to deliver a message, she gets a chilling feeling when Selim enters the scene, though the child exits just as innocently as he entered. However, Riza feels a strange blood lust coming from the boy that is the same as the one she felt from Gluttony and as she ponders this she is confronted by him. In a shocking twist, Selim says himself to be the oldest of the Homunculi, Pride. However, he also says that though he is a Homunculus, unlike Gluttony, he is the "original" Homunculus. He even asked Riza to join their side (which she refused), and threatening Riza not to spoil his secret or her comrades will be in grave danger. However, Riza gives the secret to Colonel Mustang, in code.
