Her family lives in Ohio, but she is of Greek heritage. She had been a competitive gymnast in her youth.[2] She is known for being a more curvaceous and thicker model.[3] Her mother's name is Becky.[4]

She has modelled for Abercrombie & Fitch, Express, McDonalds, Sisley and appeared on the cover of Bridal magazine.[5] Melissa has been photographed by Bruce Weber, Terry Richardson, Sylvia Krivickova and many more.
