License tagging for Image:FM Static Etch-A-Sketch.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:FM Static Etch-A-Sketch.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:09, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Your edits to Crème brûlée

Thank you for your edits to Crème brûlée; I have reverted them because WP:MOS#National varieties of English forbids changing established articles (other than ones directly connected with a particular English-speaking part of the world) from one dialect to another, and because "attested" can stand alone without adding "to" (Merriam-Webster gives the example "her record attests her integrity"). Image:FM Static Etch-A-Sketch.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:FM Static Etch-A-Sketch.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chowbok 09:07, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

Question

How do you get rid of the "You have new messages" message? 24.163.151.57 23:51, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

LGBT inclusion

The wording is from the description at Category:LGBT-related television programs. Good luck in trying to get it added to the category. Reality fans are ironically among the most in denial about LGBT people on their shows. I tried to add some of the seasons of The Amazing Race to the category, given the large presence of LGB people in a number of seasons, and was roundly shouted down by people who thought that a TV season won by an openly gay married couple was insufficiently related to LGBT issues. Anberlin

Ok Sp Let Me get somthing Strate Anberlin is only Alternative Rock and Christian Rock. Now I dont know why you guys try to put them as Christian rock when they dont want to be consider a christian band. But I have been on many wed site before That have them as Emo
Pop Punk and even Indie, and yes i can understand why you want to label christian rock so bad because there music does have christian meaning in them and the band has mostly christian members. But Let me ask you somthing have you hear of Mae. Everyone in there band is christian and some of there song have christian meaning in them. But they dont want to be co consider christian rock. But in a way thats what Indie mean that there song have meaning. So Plese if a band does not want to be consider christian rock leave the band Alone, and if they do then put christian rock on there page. Oh and to add on what kind of christian Is gay. In the bible it saids all the way the a marrige is between a man and a woman.its not man and man.and dont say God Loves every. If God Loves everyone Everyone would be going to heaven. No would be going to hell. God Loves The People that he has Chosen fron the beganing of time and there names are already in the lambs book of life so think about that also.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 63.215.27.145 (talk) at 12:40, August 21, 2007 (UTC)

Who wants to be a superhero?

Hello, I have noticed you have made many edits to the Who Wants to be a Superhero (season two) article, so I thought you would know how the fix the episode summeries table. Someone has made the 3b and other boxes green, but in 3b there was no mission, so the boxes should not be green. The person has also changed the boxes from number 1 to green, but some people who compleated the mission but were not called up for elimination should not be green. I just thought you might know how to change it. thanks. 76.189.110.228 00:41, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

No, problem. I just watched the episode on Scifi.com, and the red team, Hyper-Strike, Mindset, Mr. Mitzvah, Hygena, and Whip-Snap were the ones who did not complete the task, so they can be changed. Glad I could help.76.189.110.228 23:03, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Image Copyright problem

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:CampbellsvilleUniversityLogo.jpg. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:04, 16 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. Recent edit regarding plot synopsis's

Hi! I have an inquiry about your latest edit, in which you undid mine. You noted that most musical articles you've seen contain the actual musical numbers in the plot synopsis. I was actually under the impression that they don't (I've listed several examples of film adaptations of musicals below), since I thought the synopsis was just of the actual plot.

So I was just wondering if you could clarify. Thank you! Dh993 21:16, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

I just think that the musical numbers are already listed in a separate section, and have a soundtrack page devoted to them. IMO, the summary should just be of the plot. So I cleaned out the song titles. Hope that looks okay with you. :) Dh993 21:20, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Dumbledore vote

Hi. All the arguing over where we should discuss Dumbledore's sexual orientation is proving useless. We need to work out just who is in favour of what and a vote seems the only way to go about it. I'm asking for your opinion since you had a say in the general argument. Thank you. asyndeton 10:48, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Regarding Anberlin's Genre

I attempted to generate a response from other people who'd contributed to the article, but I got no answer. Anberlin has specifically stated that they are NOT a Christian band and therefore they should not be listed under that genre. There should be no argument as to the genre of the band, for they have made it clear what they are not, Christian.Xenosagian (talk) 04:42, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Response to Anberlin

I greatly appreciate your response. I understand that there was a discussion about the matter, and I have looked over it in it's entirety. However, I still feel that it should be disputed further. I don't understand how something so black and white could become so difficult. I hope that you will consider my opinion and respond back. Thanks. Xenosagian (talk) 22:16, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Taos High School

Don't worry about editing Taos High School's article. You're simple editing and deleting is disrespectful to those of us who are working towards making this a useful and informative resource. Do something productive and positive with your time. --Taostiger (talk) 02:42, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

My edits to that article are productive and do help to make the article a better one. The information removed was not about the school but the community, and would be better suited for an article about the surrounding area if it is notable enough (I'm not too familiar with the community, so I can't say whether or not it would be deserving of an article). The information tagged is in need of a verifyable source in order to show that the information presented is accurate. I would suggest you read WP:OWN and WP:COI. —Mears man (talk) 04:01, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
Taos, New Mexico would be a much more suitable article for the information regarding the community. —Mears man (talk) 04:13, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

Aviator

Don't you think that the Aviators in space section needs some references? Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 14:14, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

I certainly don't think it would hurt. The section is unsourced at the moment, so it would be a good idea to find a reference or two for the information present. Any sources found might also be able to be used to expand the section, so yeah, I'd say it would be a worthwhile endeavor. —Mears man (talk) 18:35, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Little Shop

Hi. I agree with you that the synopsis is a little long, especially the second act. I took a swipe at it this morning, but most of the description is not bad. See if you can cut it down at all, but I'd rather take the tag off: it's not ridiculously long, and I don't think the tag is going to help. I'll ask for help at the Musicals project talk page. Thanks! -- Ssilvers (talk) 02:30, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Okay, I'll take a look at it and see what I can do. Hopefully I can get to it sometime tomorrow afternoon... The semester is drawing to a close for me, meaning assignments are due, so I often find myself slapping a tag on an article instead of attempting to fix it. I feel kind of bad about it at times, but I figure it'll remind me to work on it when I do get the time while drawing other people's attention to the matter. —Mears man (talk) 04:30, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Father, I have sinned.

Does this mean you're going to start a "ministry" like Jan Crouch? APK yada yada 19:13, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Well, let's just say I've never felt called to televangelism, although I'd kill for one of those pink wigs.
Seriously though, when I first came to this Southern Baptist school I was that all-American male who had every intention of entering the ministry. Just a little over a year later, and I'm suddenly an openly gay agnostic. God only knows what happened there... —Mears man (talk) 19:58, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
I attended Pensacola Christian College (I deserve a medal). I was the exact same way (minus the ministry part). I was the perfect Christian son, but starting my junior year, things changed. I had an off-campus bf my last semester and went to the clubs every weekend. Ahh, it's always nice to talk to someone who is familiar with my experiences. APK yada yada 20:05, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Dang, you definitely deserve a Rainbow Heart for living through that. I was actually looking at Pensacola for a long time (I lived in Florida until I was ten, so I thought it might be nice to revisit my roots), but in the end I decided against it. The rules just sounded too strict for me. I mean, seriously, banning all music not found in the hymnal, save a few classical works? It's nice to know someone with similar experiences, though. Most people around here turn a blind eye to it, so things aren't so bad, although it sure is slim pickings when it comes to finding a boyfriend (I only know one other admittedly gay guy, and he's already in a relationship). —Mears man (talk) 20:22, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Do you mind if I ask you a question? Did you always kind of know that you were gay? For me, it was something I was more or less aware of on some level, although I was in denial about it for the longest time. I guess I just believed that if I was a good enough boy then God would "fix" me. It really hasn't been until recently that I've been able to acknowledge and accept myself for who I am. —Mears man (talk) 20:25, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
I was in the same boat. I prayed that God would "fix" me as well. I dated 3 girls in college and was even engaged to one of them. It wasn't until my 2nd semester junior year/first semester senior year that I started to realize it wasn't something I could change. On a side note, after I broke up with my fiance, she developed a crush on this hot German freshman. Guess who ended up dating that German? Oh yes, me. She knew how to pick 'em! Please Delete Santa Fe High School (New Mexico)

Hi, Thank you for deleting my comments on Santa Fe High School. If you could just delete the school from the website, I would be much obliged. Also, about the comments I posted I did not mean to offend you, but Santa Fe High School. I would be willing to write about how Santa Fe High School operates, if you would be nice enough not to delete it. Wikipedia is obviously a "Free Encyclopedia" which warrants me (and everyone else) the power to edit pages and you clearly see which page(s) I want to edit. As you are a "Junior Editor" for the site I have to ask, why do you fix things that are not broken? LM08 19:12, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

I believe that Mears Man deleted your edits because they were vandalism to the article. Please do not do that again. If you do, your vandalism will be again reverted, and can be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about how to make constructive edits, I'd be glad to help you. Aleta Sing 01:43, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
How is it vandalism if it is the truth? Also Mears Man, that was not vandalism, I was asking a question. LM08 1:49, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
I saw not text, but ASCII images you had added. Did I miss a legitimate edit? Aleta Sing 01:57, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
I'm not sure which edits LM08 is referring to either. As far as I can tell, I haven't removed any actual non-vandalism content from that article. LM08, I am uncertain as to what the question is that you are asking, so if you would please clarify I might be better able to respond. —Mears man (talk) 02:00, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
