Matthew John Kinney (born December 16, 1976 in Bangor, Maine) is a Major League Baseball right-handed pitcher who currently pitches for the Seibu Lions of Japan's Pacific League. He spent 2007 in the minor league system of the San Francisco Giants. Kinney is a graduate of Bangor High School.

Kinney made his debut in 2000 with the Minnesota Twins, going 2-2 with a 5.10 ERA in 8 starts. In 2002, he had just a 4.64 ERA with the Minnesota Twins, but went 2-7 that year. He went 13-17 with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2003 and 2004. On August 6, 2004, Kinney was designated for assignment by the Brewers, but was claimed off waivers by the Kansas City Royals. He would make 11 relief appearances with the Royals that season. During the 2007-2008 off-season, Kinney signed with the Seibu Lions.

Kinney is best remembered for giving up Barry Bonds' 660th home run (Tying Bonds with his godfather Willie Mays.)
