Mark Strittmatter

Mark Strittmatter was born April 4, 1969 in Huntington, New York. He is a bullpen catcher and coach for the Colorado Rockies.

Strittmatter spent most all of his playing career in the Minor Leagues (1992-2000) after being drafted by the Colorado Rockies in June of 1992. His only Major League Baseball playing experience came in September of 1998, appearing in four games. He went hitless in 4 total at bats, and handled eleven chances flawlessly in the field.

Mark and his wife, Katie, have two children, son Sean (8/24/03) and daughter Emily (11/18/04). They make their home in Highlands Ranch. Strittmatter played baseball at the County College of Morris in Randolph, N.J., for two years before transferring to Virginia Commonwealth University where he helped lead VCU to the Metro Conference Championship in 1992.
