[edit] Your various contributions to Cheshire-related articles (e.g., Culcheth and Glazebury, and others)

hello, and welcome to wikipedia. I see you have added quite a bit of information to some Cheshire-related articles (using "Cheshire" in its ceremonial-county role). Thank you for them! I wonder if you would consider improving your contributions even more? To do that, it would be helpful if you were able to read through WP:UKCITIES and use that you guide you in structuring the articles. Similarly, it would also help immensely if you could give more detailed references to the sources you have used to write the information. I've already edited some of your contributions to make the referencing conform more to the way wikipedia likes them done, but it would be really good if you could try to make your contributions more like that to begin with. I've made some of the changes for you, but there will be others I have missed, or which I cannot complete because you have given only general pointers to a document (so including page numbers will help a lot.) I know it may be a lot to take in in a short time, but trying to master it now will, I am sure, help make the editing experience for you much more enjoyable in the long term. Thanks.  DDStretch  (talk) 09:53, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Hello again. I've noticed you've removed some information from the references in High Legh. It was not a good idea to do that, as the information is required and conforms to policy over what should be included in references to websites. You can find out about this in WP:V, and [[WP:CITE[[, as well as WP:References. I hope you can avoid doing this in future, and so help make your contributions better than they are at the moment. Regards.  DDStretch  (talk) 09:12, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

  • Archbishop Booth's arms.jpg was in what we call the article namespace and was thus nonsense. Image:Archbishop Booth's arms.jpg is at least in the right namespace. What you must do is: a) give the source of the iamge and b) find out what the appropriate licence tag is and apply it. Regarding these edits, please: always log in before editing, use the preview button more and provide edit summaries. -- RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 11:28, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for your e-mail. But would it not have been better to deal with my suggestions above? "This image was computer-generated so there is no way there could be a copyright issue". I do not see the logic - computer-generated images are subject to copyright same as any other images. -- — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 05:24, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
I had intended to make you do the hunting, but since I have found it, I will point you to Wikipedia:Copyright on emblems. Incidentally, the image should be re-uploaded as a PNG or SVG rather than a JPG and a transparent background would probably be better, see this for example. — RHaworth (Talk | contribs) 18:48, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
