This is a list of telephone area codes in Michigan, United States.
- 231 - Northern Michigan: Traverse City, Ludington, Muskegon, Petoskey and northwestern Michigan
- 248 - Metro Detroit: Troy, Oakland County, Pontiac, Southfield, Rochester Hills and northwestern Detroit suburbs, overlays with area code 947
- 269 - Western Michigan: Battle Creek, Benton Harbor, Allegan, Hastings, Kalamazoo, and St Joseph
- 313 - Dearborn, Redford Township and the city of Detroit
- 517 - Central Michigan: Lansing, Jackson, Charlotte, Coldwater, Howell, Deerfield, Addison
- 586 - All of Macomb County, Michigan
- 616 - Western Michigan: Grand Rapids, Holland, Greenville, Grand Haven, Zeeland, Ionia
- 734 - Metro Detroit: Ann Arbor, Monroe, Wayne, and Ypsilanti
- 810 - Southern Flint/Tri-Cities: Port Huron, Flint, Flushing, Brighton, Sandusky, and Lapeer
- 906 - All of the Upper Peninsula and Mackinac Island
- 989 - Northern Flint/Tri-Cities and Northern Michigan: Alpena, Mt. Pleasant, Bay City, Saginaw, Midland, Owosso, Gaylord, and Bad Axe

- 947 - Troy, Oakland County, Pontiac, Southfield, Rochester Hills and northwestern Detroit suburbs, overlays with area code 248
- Approved by the Michigan Public Service Commission on 2001-04-17 [1] for future use, when numbers in the existing 248 area are exhausted. Not known to be in use as of 2007.
- While this code was proposed as early as 2001, as of January 2007, the North American Numbering Plan Administrator does not rate the 248 area as being in "jeopardy" of exhausting its numbers. [2], retrieved 2007-01-15.
- 679 - A future overlay to the combined area of the 313 and 734 areas. Not known to be in use as of 2007.
- 949 - A future overlay to the combined area of the 313 and 734 areas. Not known to be in use as of 2007.
