Having flown over the lake many times, it's chocolate colour intrigues me. Can someone in the know write an addendum to the article commenting on it's colour, and why it is this way?

Is Lake Abitibi part of the Blake River Megacaldera Complex? Lake Abitibi and the calderas lie within the Abitibi greenstone belt and both span across the Ontario-Quebec border. Black Tusk 22:12, September 26 2007 (UTC)
