[edit] History

KFYR-FM signed on in 1966 with a Top 40 (CHR) format. In 1978, it became KYYY as "Y93". The station tweaked to a Hot AC in 1996. The station tweaked to an adult-leaning Top 40 format that also mixed in modern rock music in 1999. Y-93 tweaked to a mainstream Top 40 format in 2004, which lasted until 2005 when it changed to adult contemporary. KYYY competed with KKCT briefly when KKCT switched from country music to Top 40 in 2004. Most of the current on-air personalities has been on, or with Y-93, for the over a decade.
