Andrimitum : Population figures of 1000 may seem high to many, however they are based on house count in the community and Stats Canada Information.
Based on School enrolment and Stats Canada figures the School district that Kleefeld pulls from must have approximately 2200 people. School area maps can be found at Hanover Sd site (link on Kleefeld Page)
If anyone has more accurate information on population or has a better way to determine population count, please feel free to discuss here. I would gladly be corrected if anyone can come up with anything more accurate.
It is notable that Kleefeld School (437 in 2005/2006) has more students in Kindergarten to Grade 9 than both Landmark (407) and Blumenort (426). It is also noteworthy how close that school enrolment is to Niverville (486). Very few people consider Kleefeld to be even half the size of these other communities. Apparently perception can be quite wrong.
