[edit] You're a sysop
Hey there. I'm pleased to let you know that, consensus being reached, you are now an administrator! You've volunteered to do housekeeping duties that normal users sadly cannot participate in. Sysops can't do a lot of stuff: They can't delete pages just like that (except patent nonsense like "aojt9085yu8;3ou"), and they can't protect pages in an edit war they are involved in. But they can delete random junk, block anonymous vandals, delete pages listed on articles for deletion for more than 5 days (provided there's a consensus), protect pages when asked to, and keep the few protected pages that exist on Wikipedia up to date.
Almost anything you can do can be undone, but please take a look at The Administrators' how-to guide and the Administrators' reading list before you get started (although you should have read that during your candidacy ;). Take a look before experimenting with your powers. Also, please add Administrators' noticeboard to your watchlist, as there are always discussions/requests for admins there. If you have any questions drop me a message at My talk page. Have fun! =Nichalp «Talk»=PS Please add you name to WP:LA!

[edit] Cubs
I am rooting for the Cubs, but I am truly a Dodger fan.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 21:13, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] My recent RfA
I am sorry you felt it necessary to oppose my recent RfA, which did not succeed. I will attempt to get more experience in the main namespace and the Wikipedia namespace and will try again for RfA in two month's time. I hope I will have satisfied your concerns by then, but if not, please comment as you feel you should. Just a sidenote: I have had/do have interaction with other Wikipedians, I just prefer to do so on IRC, which is why I don't have a ton of talk-space edits. Thanks for participating in my RfA. -- Cobi(t|c|b|cn) 07:14, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Melissa Kaplan
Hi, I saw you have edited frequently to the article Splashdown (band). There is an outstanding request at WP:AR1 for an article on Melissa Kaplan, and I thought you might be able to help determine if an article for her would withstand deletion (and/or, if you're interested in writing or helping to source it if you can). Thanks for anything you can provide. Chubbles 03:56, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

| Thanks for participating in my RfA, which closed successfuly. I leave you with a picture of the real Blood Red Sandman! Note his 'mop' is slightly deadlier than mine! - - Blood Red Sandman (Talk) (Contribs) 18:49, 12 October 2007 (UTC) |
[edit] Cillian Murphy take 2
Hello there -- Cillian Murphy is back up for FAC after a long and winding path to almost making it last time. If you're still inclined to support, it would be great to get your vote again. BTW, all sources now have web access dates! --Melty girl 04:11, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Edit war, please help!
The user Mumia-w-18 persistently removes a copyvio CSD tag and a tag added by CorenSearchBot from Ome Henk - without being an admin! He seems to want to keep this blatant copyright violation from being properly reacted upon (by speedy deletion of the article Ome Henk. Please help! 217.233.230.172 18:21, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] The Wiz (film)
- I saw you commented way back in January 2007 when this article was created by FuriousFreddy (talk · contribs) and made WP:DYK. Unfortunately, looks like that user has retired from the project. But I just wanted to let you know that I have since worked on the article and nominated it as a WP:GAN candidate. Congratulations on your RFA. Cheers! Curt Wilhelm VonSavage 09:00, 3 November 2007 (UTC).
- Thanks for the kind words! The Wiz (film) is slowly on its way to FA status. First WP:GA, then WP:PR, then hopefully a successful WP:FAC... Curt Wilhelm VonSavage 04:04, 4 November 2007 (UTC).
[edit] Pogo.com games list
Hi Kicking222, thanks for moving the list, although I could use your thoughts on the real benefit of the list of games in Pogo.com in the article's talk page. Thanks. --Chikinsawsage 04:34, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Ha
Based on perusing your talk page as of late, welcome to hell.
As to my original intent of posting, here's to my first deletion conflict with you. Keep up the hard work. Keegantalk 06:10, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
- I meant that I hit delete and got the Internal Error message because you beat me to it. Good stuff. Keegantalk 06:19, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Kill Bill characters
Hi Kicking222. I assume by your changing Nikki Bell (Kill Bill) to a redirect to List of Kill Bill characters that there was a consensus reached or a policy invoked to make that change for all Kill Bill characters' articles. Could you give me a link to that discussion (or policy)? List of Kill Bill characters has been suggested to merge with Kill Bill. If that occurs, I think Kill Bill could become too long because Kill Bill fans probably will move some of the info on individual character pages to List of Kill Bill characters. (I hope this makes sense; it's a bit convoluted). Anyway, I would appreciate any information you make be aware of. Thanks. Ward3001 (talk) 23:52, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply. I'm a KB fan also. I kind of like the individual character pages myself, but not enough to make an issue out of it. What do you think about editors adding more detail to List of Kill Bill characters, including some of the images included in character pages that are deleted? That might satisfy those of us who like details about the characters, and possibly build up the List of Kill Bill characters article so that a merge is not necessary. Thanks. Ward3001 (talk) 00:21, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

- Thanks again. I'm rather strict about fair use myself, although I think we have a bit more flexibility with fictional characters and films compared to real people because of lack of replaceability. I really haven't given a lot of thought to any of this, but I may add an image or two when I get time. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you think I might be stepping over the line of fair use. I don't take offense, and I also don't have a lot of ego invested in this issue. Thanks for this discussion. Ward3001 (talk) 00:41, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Elonka 3
Thank you for your participation in my RfA. It was definitely a dramatic debate that landed on WP:100, but ultimately was deemed a successful declaration of consensus, and I am now an admin. I definitely paid close attention to everything that was said in the debate, and, where possible, I will try to incorporate the (constructive) criticism towards being a better administrator. I'm taking things slowly for now, partially because of the holidays and all the off-wiki distractions. I'm working my way through the Wikipedia:New admin school, carefully double-checking the relevant policies, and will gradually phase into the use of the new tools, with my main goals being to help out with various backlogs. I sincerely doubt you'll see anything controversial coming from my new access level. :) I also fully intend to keep on writing articles, as there are a few more that I definitely want to get to WP:FA status. If you do ever have any concerns about my activities as an administrator, I encourage you to let me know. My door is always open. Have a good new year, --Elonka 19:14, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

| Kicking222, thank you for showing your support in my RFA which passed with 38 support, 0 oppose, and 0 neutral! I also want to give special thanks to my Admin Coach and nominator, Useight for all of his help and support. I promise that I'll give my best effort as an admin, and I hope that your confidence in me proves to be justified. If I can ever be of any help, please let me know. In the mean time, I have some cleaning to do. Have a great day! Jauerbackdude?/dude. 20:11, 26 January 2008 (UTC) |
