The Kansas gubernatorial election of 2006 took place on November 7, 2006. Incumbent Democrat Governor Kathleen Sebelius won re-election. Her approval rating as of July 2006 was reported at 60%.[1] On August 1, 2006 Jim Barnett won the Republican primary with 36% of the vote.[2] Sebelius was unopposed for the Democratic nomination.
