Julia Barrett is a fictional character on the ABC soap opera, General Hospital. Julia is the older half-sister of Brenda Barrett. She was portrayed by Crystal Carson from 1991-1993, and again briefly in 1997 and 1998.

Julia came to Port Charles to run the family business, Barrett Industries. She fell in love with Bill Eckert. Their relationship ended when Bill killed her father, Harlan. In 1992, Julia's younger sister, Brenda Barrett showed up in Port Charles. The two did not have a close relationship but Julia convinced Brenda to move to Port Charles and tried to mend their relationship. Julia began to date Ned Ashton who was recently divorced. She felt that Ned would never get over his ex-wife, Jenny Eckert. She ended their relationship and started to date A.J. Quartermaine. She decided to move back to London and sold AJ her shares in the Port Charles hotel.
Julia returned to Port Charles in 1997 when Brenda's finacee, Jasper Jacks brought her back as a gift for Brenda. Jax did not know that the two did not get along. They decided to try to resolve their problems. When Brenda had a mental breakdown, Julia wanted to bring Brenda back to London with her, but Brenda refused.
Brenda was "killed" in a car accident when their mother, Veronica crashed the car. Julia was angry with Jax because he let Brenda go with her knowing that she suffered from a mental illness. Julia went back to London after the funeral for Brenda.
Julia ran into Jax and Venus Ardanowski in Monte Carlo, where Jax was trying to win back his family fortune. Julia thought that Jax was sleeping with V. Julia was very angry with Jax and accused him of never loving Brenda. She called Jax's brother, Jerry Jacks to see if he was able to get Jax in Monte Carlo. She went back to London.
