[edit] Long time no talk...

Greetings! I've been working on some capitalization issues, and just wanted to check if these are being considered with the Film/Book lists:

Films - checking for

(Film - should be (film
(Movie - should be (film
(movie - should be (film
Film) - should be film) - such as (2008 Film)
Movie) - should be film)
movie) - should be film)

Books - checking for

(Book - should be (book
(Novel - should be (novel
(Comic - should be (comic
(Comics - should be (comics
(Journal - should be (journal
(Magazine - should be (magazine
(Novel - should be (novel
(Novella - should be (novella
(Short story - should be (short story
(Short Story - should be (short story
(Dialogue - should be (dialogue
(Essay - should be (essay
(Play - should be (play

I don't know if there's many in the book category that would be date disambiguated like films, necessitating a check for things like "(2008 Book)".

I know that there'll be a few false negatives at the onset, no biggie for me!

Ciao for now, and again, thanks for the ongoing battle for accuracy!! SkierRMH (talk) 08:05, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Unwound_-_Leaves_Turn_Inside_You.jpg

I have tagged Image:Unwound_-_Leaves_Turn_Inside_You.jpg as a disputed use of non-free media, because there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please clarify your fair use rationale on the image description page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 05:09, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Klaus Mitffoch deletion debate

While I consider myself an inclusionist, I am also highly annoyed by a flood of stubby unreferenced fan made music/sport bios and similar articles. If they are notable, they can be expanded, and if they are deleted few times until we get a decent entry - little loss (as they rarely say something else than X is a musician or Y is a player).--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 04:35, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Ravel company logo.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Ravel company logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 01:55, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] February 13

Greetings! Could you double check or do an additional bot run through the album/book/film/dvd lists again, making sure that 2/13 is covered. It looks like there's close to 9800 images tagged for that day alone :( and I'd like to make sure that all of those lists are covered! Muchas gracias :) SkierRMH (talk) 03:30, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Arrrgh... On my crappy home connection I get 3 minutes worth of data and then a "timeout" error when trying to get a "large" category list (tried film & album). It's odd that other programmes running with constant connections do not have time out issues; so I'm getting suspicious that it's something on the wiki server side... Curious if anyone else has been getting this problem as of late? When I get to work tomorrow I'll try one of the lists to see if it's consistent or dependent on the internet connection. [edit] Ravel (clothing company)

This is a bit late, but the article has been deleted after an uncontested prod for notability has expired.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 01:41, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Help

Hi, as your one the creators of AWB, can you create me a private browser, for Mac, with basic wiki functions like;

  1. Wikipedia and Google search
  2. Random page button (Random page of wiki being visited, when no wiki visited brings up a message with two buttons (OK), (Stay))
  3. Watchlist button (always en-wikipedia)
  4. Talk/article switch button
  5. edit button
  6. history button
  7. watch/unwatch button
  8. {wp-username} (t|c) section (in to right-corner of browser, {wp-username} is one signed in to wikipedia, if none signed in, uses default set in Preferences, under The programs menu in menu bar)
  9. status changer
  10. support most scripts (or at least one currently in User:ThatWikiGuy/monobook.js)

Thank you, remember for mac, and not ugly. Thank you again. Please reply! – ThatWikiGuy (talk) 13:06, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
