3J (Jerry Jamal Jameson) was a supporting character on the sitcom, Family Matters, is third and final replacement of The Winslow family, and he was portrayed by Orlando Brown. 3J was either born in the fall of 1986 or winter of 1987.
3J appears in the episode "My Big Brother" (aired on October 11, 1996) where we learn that his mother had put him up for adoption, and he cannot read, and had run away from the group, The Winslows decide to adopt 3J, and he is the supporting character from the eighth-ninth season, although he is a smart-alec, and rambunctious, Carl Winslow and Harriette Winslow seemed to learn that all he needs a family with lots of love, the Winslows eventually adopts 3J. 3J was also known for calling Urkel as the "Urk-man" and being pals with his friend Richie Crawford.
In the first episode he appeared in was "My Big Brother" (a Season 8 episode), where 3J is meant to be smart-alec, sassy inner-city kid, but when Steve Urkel approaches him, 3J admits that his mother had given him up for adoption, and 3J threatens to the leave the group home, and he could not see, but Urkel insisted that he helped him read words and thought his reading skills a lot better. In the next few remaining episodes, Harriette, Carl, Eddie and Laura meet 3J, 3J acts towards disrespectful, upon that he needs a family with lots of love, The Winslows decide to adopt him, and Orlando Brown becomes the series regular in the series final two seasons (1996-1997 and 1997-1998).
TV critics point out that the 3J character is the third installment of the series, having preceded like the middle child from the series beginning in 1989, and without no significance after the fourth season ends in the summer of 1993, Judy and nephew Richie Crawford stepped from 1993 until 1996 as the replacement middle child for The Winslow clan, and now 3J is the final installment from the final two seasons, 1996 until 1998.
