[edit] License tagging for Image:JackyTar.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:JackyTar.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 05:08, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
- I have responded to your question at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions#Personal portrait photo. --MECU≈talk 02:33, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image:VelocityRunning(2).png listed for deletion
An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:VelocityRunning(2).png, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. 293.xx.xxx.xx 09:17, 2 May 2007 (UTC) — 293.xx.xxx.xx 09:17, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:WikiScreenshot.PNG)
Thanks for uploading Image:WikiScreenshot.PNG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 21:32, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Category:Psuedoreligionist Wikipedians
As you may already be aware, Category:Psuedoreligionist Wikipedians and its subcategories, Category:Discordian Wikipedians, Category:Flying Spaghetti Monsterist Wikipedians, Category:SubGenius Wikipedians, and others, have been deleted. That deletion is now up for review. If you have anything you'd like to say on the subject, now is the time. If you know of any other editors who might have something to say on the subject, pass the word. If, on the other hand, you are not interested in the slightest, feel free to delete this. — Bigwyrm watch mewake me 10:25, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your recent edits
Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button
located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 02:59, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Yo, Uilliam!
Life is good. Yes, we'll be at 12th Night, eh? Good to hear from you. Whatcha been up to lately? Mainly what I do here is play Whac-a-mole with the vandals...and I already gave that last complainer what for (what five, even) on his talk page. --Finngall talk 08:01, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
- No need to ask permission when dealing with such obvious vandalism--Be bold! :-) --Finngall talk 14:00, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your recent edit to Bill of rights
... was quite righteous. Don't hesitate to undo the idiots. (Just check in case there's a whole series of vandalisms, which must be reverted en masse.) --Orange Mike 18:26, 16 October 2007 (UTC) (Inali of Tanasi, GDH)
[edit] Re: Help desk question
You asked if User:Jackytar/Jacky Tar's Sandbox could be protected. The short answer is no. If you look at the protection policy, you will see that pages should only be protected if there's a problem with not protecting them. Most people don't know that your sandbox exists, so it's not a problem.
Nobody has vandalized your sandbox, and probably nobody will. As an additional safeguard, you can write at the top of your page that any visitors should please not edit the sandbox because it's for your personal use. That will avoid the problem of users who might think, "Hey, it's just a sandbox, what the heck. POOOOOOOOOOOOOOP." :) Shalom (Hello • Peace) 21:29, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
Also, if someone else were to edit your sandbox you could always Undo their edits. You can't ever lose your own edits; they are always in the page history. Sbowers3 02:39, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of S.K.S. Perry
A tag has been placed on S.K.S. Perry requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ~Eliz81(C) 22:17, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Velocity1.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Velocity1.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 20:44, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Template:Disclaimer-military
A template you created, Template:Disclaimer-military, has been marked for deletion as a deprecated and orphaned template. If, after 14 days, there has been no objection, the template will be deleted. If you wish to object to its deletion, please list your objection here and feel free to remove the {{deprecated}} tag from the template. If you feel the deletion is appropriate, no further action is necessary. Thanks for your attention. Black Falcon (Talk) 00:09, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Userbox
I liked your new naval userbox that you posted on the Canadian userboxes page! Just to cross reference it, I have also added it to the Military userboxes page at Wikipedia:Userboxes/Military#Canadian_Forces - Ahunt (talk) 12:15, 6 April 2008 (UTC) (CD)
