Ivar Stukolkin was born on August 13, 1960 in Tallinn, USSR. He is olympic champion in swimming.

Besides 2 olympic medals Stukolkin won gold medal in 1982 World Championships (4×200 m Freestyle Relay). He has been Soviet Union champion once in 1978 and has won 16 titles in Estonian SSR.

Stukolkin has set 32 records in Estonian SSR and he currently holds them in 200, 400 and 1500 meter freestyle swimming. These records are set in 50-meter swimming pool.
