I placed the POV tag when creating the article because it is pasted from a US government website. Because this comes from a US govt source it may not be neutral, but I don't have the expertise to judge. (Hopefully others that know more will simply remove the tag if they think the article looks okay.) Mangostar (talk) 00:25, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

No, I think the tag is right and that the article paints far too rosy a picture given tensions over areas such as (picking four which spring randomly to mind):
The other thing is that the artcle is really focusing purely on contemporary issues, which is not what its title suggests. There was a World War II, IIRC! —Ian Spackman (talk) 20:46, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
And of course there's all the other stuff that makes this one of the most significant of all bilateral relations, from some bloke called Vespucci, through Meucci to Pucci. There's the ties of family and Five Families, just within film you have the Stallones and Leones and the Yanks going over to Cinecitta in the 50s which helped lead to the Capri scene which was then so important to the development of so much of the Italian fashion industry. And there's Fermi and pizza and ... You get the idea, if you want to cover the full scope of this title and go beyond the narrow diplomatic sense, the scope of this article gets quite dazzling. Probably quite fun to do, but I've got other things on my list.... FlagSteward (talk) 02:47, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
