[edit] Proposed deletion of Skateboarding Sponsorship
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Skateboarding Sponsorship, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit] AfD nomination of Skateboarding Sponsorship
I have nominated Skateboarding Sponsorship, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Skateboarding Sponsorship. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. [edit] Your recent edits
Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button
located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 14:39, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Blocked for violation of Wikipedia user name policy
- This is often not a reflection on the user, and you are encouraged to choose a new account name which does meet our guidelines and are invited to contribute to Wikipedia under an appropriate username. If you feel this block was made in error, you may quickly and easily appeal it - see below.
Our username policy provides guidance on selecting your username. In brief, usernames should not be offensive, disruptive, promotional, related to a 'real-world' group or organization, confusing, or misleading.
If you have already made edits and wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name you may request a change in username which is quick and easy. To do so, please follow these directions:
-
- Add {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. This is possible because even when you are blocked, you can still edit your own talk page.
- At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
- Please note, you may only request a name that is not already in use. The account is created upon acceptance – do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change since we can far easier allocate your new name to you, if it is not yet used. Usernames that have already been taken are listed here. For more information, please visit Wikipedia:Changing username.
[edit] Regarding that article...
I already stated it over at the AfD page, but I'll say it here with a little more detail: it's not that the information isn't useful or worthwhile, it's just that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a how-to guide. Information needs to not only be factual, but verifiable from reliable sources and stated from a neutral point of view.
And in the end, it wasn't even any of the above that got the article deleted, it was the fact that it was a copyright violation from another site, and we take that sort of thing very seriously around here for legal reasons.
Please do not take this whole experience personally, and please don't think that we don't want you around. The fact that this account was blocked had nothing to do with your contributions--it was solely because the name was considered a violation of the username policy. I do hope you'll continue to contribute here--you are absolutely free to start a new account under a new name. I know that for a "free encyclopedia" it seems like we have a lot of rules around here, but it's all in the interest of making this the best encyclopedia it can be. If you do create a new username, please shoot me a message on my talk page and I'll send back a welcome message that contains many useful links on Wikipedia's policies and procedures. If you want to respond to me here on this page, that's cool too--while the account is blocked for editing articles, you can still leave messages here. Thanks, and take care. --Finngall talk 19:31, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
