The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology or IIST is India's national institute for the study and development of space science. The institute is now functioning in Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) campus, Thiruvananthapuram(Trivandrum), Kerala. A permanent campus is coming up near LPSC in Nedumangad, Thiruvananthapuram.
It offers undergraduate and graduate courses, and also serves as a research center. It is sponsored by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) under Department of Space, Government of India. The first batch of B.Tech. and M.Sc. programs has started in the year 2007-08.
IIST presently offers B.Tech. courses in Space Technology and Integrated Masters in Applied Sciences
