"iLike Jake" is the fourth episode of the television show iCarly. It first aired on Nickelodeon on September 22, 2007.
[edit] Plot
Sam switches her locker from in between two stupid football players, and forces Freddie to take her old locker. Freddie gets squashed during a fight between the two sweaty athletes, and falls down on the ground. Carly is about to help him up, but is interrupted when news gets out that the most popular guy in school, Jake Krandle, is single for the first time since fourth grade. Carly drops Freddie back down to join the excitement, making Freddie jealous.
Carly, who "normally wouldn't get all excited about a hot guy like Jake Krandle," soon starts acting jumpy and nervous around him. Sam, in an attempt to get Carly to talk to Jake (for she herself is uninterested), throws a Fuji apple at Jake's head to get his attention. Jake and Carly start a conversation, and Jake appears interested in stopping by Carly's place sometime.
Later, Carly and Spencer are throwing paint at Spencer's latest sculpture (an inaccurate self-portrayal.) In the middle of this, Jake stops by, and Carly runs upstairs to "make [herself] more attractive." While Jake waiting, Freddie makes it unintentionally obvious that he is jealous of the attention that Jake is giving Carly (and that Carly is giving Jake). Carly then lets Jake in, and goes upstairs to show him the iCarly set. Jake experiments with Sam's remote (which is prominently featured in earlier and later episodes for providing fanfare from the non-existent audience.) It is then revealed that Jake sings and plays guitar, and he volunteers to preform live on iCarly.
Meanwhile, Spencer is wearing a head cast to create a model of his head to stick on his sculpture, and has equipped himself with a breathing tube and a food and drink tube. He asks Sam to pour him some coffee, but confuses his drink hole with his breathing hole and Sam nearly burns Spencer's nose.
Thirty minutes before the live airing of the episode begins, Freddie runs a sound check, during which Jake practices the song he wrote himself and turns out to be a terrible singer. Carly sends Jake downstairs to change into his costume so that she and her friends can decide what to do about the situation. They eventually decide to trap Jake in their apartment's elevator, but he escapes using the emergency door at the last second. They eventually decide, in a last-minute decision between humiliating Jake and hurting his feelings, that they could simply alter his voice on the computer. Freddie, being the only one who knows how, initially refuses, not wanting to give his classmates another reason to admire Jake. He asks Carly if she will kiss him if he does it, and although she refuses, Freddie eventually decides to do it anyway (being the pushover he is.)
iCarly goes live, and Freddie manages to make Jake's voice sound good. Carly then kisses Freddie on the nose, making him and her happy.
The next day in school, everyone is impressed by Jake's singing voice, including his ex-girlfriend. Jake gets back together with his ex, much to Carly's dismay. Jake, apparently, thought that Carly and Freddie was in a relationship, having misinterpreted the kiss Carly had given the previous day (understandably, since Jake didn't know that his voice was altered via computer for the webcast.) The episode ends there with Carly denying that the kiss was in a relationship type manner.
