[edit] Your templates on User Warnings
The User Warnings project seems immaculate; however, I'm slightly concerned that your Userpage vandalism tags are also listed for use with incidents of Talkpage vandalism. I've left a message on the project talk page; since they're your templates, I thought I should mention it here too. Good work though :) Rawling 23:18, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

I did not make the page and Bill Foran is very well known in North Texas in addition to around the country for reasons discussed on the discussion page. Reinstate the page. âThe preceding unsigned comment was added by Rpritchie (talk ⢠contribs).
i am very sorry
[edit] Edit summary
Hi, I haven't added your new edit summary templates over to the UW project, as they weren't around when we first started. But I don't see a reason why they shouldn't be added if you would like to give them a go. Cheers Khukri (talk . contribs) 14:44, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

for the CRKD, what has to be done to make it good for wikipedia?
Raysaagar
- It must be in the neutral point of view, their must be an insertion of notability (meaning it must be notable, and references should be cited), and it must not read like an advertisement. Have a nice day. ÂIced Kola(Mmm...) 21:59, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Naked brothers Band
Hello, Iced Kola I am new here and I watch the naked brothers band, and recently I tried to find a page on the wikipedia with the naked brothers band. Frotunately, I did find it but the page is totally messed up. there is nothing on the page at all. well, since you are a more expierenced wikipedian than I am I would like you to fix it. My name is IBM Thinkpad and I'm just wanting to say that the naked brothers band page needs some work. Thanks for your cooperation, your time and your money#
- IBM 22:04, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
- I am only kidding
- It was recently vandalized by many different IP's, so I reverted that. As for adding to it, both pages seem to be alright right now, and I don't know much about the Naked Brothers Band. Sorry, have a nice day. ÂIced Kola(Mmm...) 22:08, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Dead links project
Hi ... Thanks for the message on my talk page about the DL project. Since I don't know how to add a reply to a topic, I'm posting a reply here. I hope that's OK.
You say "[dead link], unlike other dead link templates, goes after the dead link, not in place of it". I'm not clear under what circumstance I'm supposed to use each of the templates. Some of the links I'm fixing are embedded in paragraph, either as footnotes or just a link directly from the text in the paragraph. Many others are at the bottom of the article under external links. Can you give me some guidance?
- Hi again, Iced Kola. I think there's something amiss with the dlw template.
- Here's an example from the Khonnor article:
-
-
- I don't know where the {{{2}}} is coming from. I think that's where the "MTV This Is Our Music" text should appear. Instead it appears between "Internet Archive" & "link" and the "MTV" disappears completely.
- Otoh, it worked for me as expected in the Jens Lekman article:
-
-
- Also, the template generates a couple of blank lines at the end. Is this intentional?
- Sanfranman59 00:20, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
-
-
- {{{2}}} is where the caption goes. For example, if you're linking to a news site, and the name of the article you're linking to is "Wikipedia rocks", than you would put "Wikipedia rocks" in {{{2}}}. Template:Dlw should tell you all about how to use the template. ÂIced Kola(Mmm...) 01:45, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
- I think I'm using the template properly since I was able to get it to work as expected in the Jens Lekman article (see above). For some reason, when I used it with the mtve.com link in the Khonnor article, it didn't come out right. Would you mind taking a look at how I use them above to see if you can see what's going wrong? Should I be directing these questions to someone else? Are you the author of the template?
- Thanks again for your assistance. Sanfranman59 07:26, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
-
- Nevermind ... I just realized that I should have looked at the Template:Dlw Talk page. There's a note in there that if there are = in the URL, they have to be replaced with %3D. Hmmm. Sorry to clutter up your page. I'm trying to learn the ropes around here. Some of it is a bit esoteric. Sanfranman59 07:37, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi, Sorry for the blatant spam, but you have yourself down as active at WikiProject user warnings WP:UW. There is a discussion on going here that might be of interest to you about the future of this project. There are two strawpolls on the talk pages and the second one is about the future of the WP:UW project. Now we have the end in sight we are looking at wrapping up the project and merging it with Template messages/User talk namespace WP:UTM and creating a one stop shop for all userspace template issue. As you are or have been active on this project we feel you may have some input on this issue, and would like you to visit the discussion and give any thoughts you may have on the matter. WikiProject Ice Hockey Newsletter
Dear Iced Kola/Archives/2007! You are receiving this newsletter because you have signed up as a member of WikiProject Ice Hockey. The purpose of this newsletter is to update on the goings on of the project, as there have been major changes, and a lot of new recognized content in the past few weeks. If you are an inactive user, you probably won't recognize the new and improved state of the WikiProject!
From the project, Maxim.

New recognized content
By Maxim
There have been a lot more Good and Featured articles written in the past few weeks. Here is a list:[1][2][3][4]
- Featured articles
- Good articles
- Featured lists[5]
- Notes
- ^ All articles are in order of promotion, as written on the main WikiProject page; FA's have official dates of promotions.
- ^ A star represents a featured article or list
- ^ A green circle represents a good article
- ^ Stanley Cup is an A-Class article
- ^ The lists system differs from articles, and doesn't give an official date of promotion
By Maxim
In the past few weeks, there has been quite heated discussion about the use of diacritics in article name. The current guideline is using diacritics in the pages of articles of all player names which require them, but redirects are exempt.
By Maxim
There have been two new task forces started within the WikiProject to coordinate major topics.
- Sweden Ice Hockey task force
This task force was initiated by Krm500. Its current goal is to improve Henrik Lundqvist to Good or Featured article status. It covers all Swedish clubs, leagues and competitions and associated articles, players and coaches that are Swedish, or have played/coached for a Swedish club, and arenas in Sweden. They plan to eventually operate as a sort of a sub-project, which will have its own articles for creation, ranking importance and quality of articles, and co-ordinate article improvement. Its current members are Krm500, Bamsefar75, and CLAES.
- New Jersey Devils task force
This task force was initiated by Bsroiaadn. Its goal is to improve New Jersey Devils to Featured Topic status. Although it currently meets the required article count, the task force wishes to improve it further. Its area of coverage is very similar to the Sweden Ice Hockey task force. Its members are Bsroiaadn, JHMM13, FutureNJGov, Sportskido8, Michael Greiner, JRWalko, and Soxrock.

Article assessement completed
By Maxim
On July 12, Kaiser matias announced that he had completed assessing all the articles with a {{ice hockey}} tag, sorting them into Category:Unassessed Ice Hockey articles. Kaiser matias has ranked about 9000 articles in that category, and most were stubs, and "have no information at all", according to him. Everybody is encouraged to expand the stubs into real articles. This effort took around 5 months. A big thanks goes to Kaiser matias from me and all the project.

Featured Topic Drive
By Maxim
Started by User:Scorpion0422, the aim of this drive is to make NHL awards a featured topic. A featured topic is basically a set of very high quality articles (good articles and featured articles/lists). In this case, the topic is NHL awards. Many users have helped, including Scorpion0422, Resolute, Serte, Hasek is the best, Maxim, Croat Canuck, Spike Wilbury, FutureNJGov, and T Rex/Dinosaur puppy. The progress has been very good; there are 12 featured lists promoted, and 2 good articles:
Hart Memorial Trophy (Scorpion)
James Norris Memorial Trophy (Scorpion)
Vezina Trophy (Scorpion)
Conn Smythe Trophy (Serte)
Frank J. Selke Trophy (FutureNJGov)
Lady Byng Memorial Trophy (Scorpion)
Lester B. Pearson Award (Scorpion)
Calder Memorial Trophy (Croat Canuck)
Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy (Maxim)
King Clancy Memorial Trophy (Maxim)
Jack Adams Award (Maxim)
Presidents' Trophy (Scorpion)
Stanley Cup (Earlier collaboration, very many involved)
Traditions and anecdotes associated with the Stanley Cup (Maxim)
Check the project page if you are interested in helping out. Although it's closer to being done than not, there's still work to be done. The next topic that might be tackled is Stanley Cup, but this remains purely speculative and in discussion.

[edit] Golden Gate Fields Handicap
Terribly curious. This is a horse race among many horse races of interest to those who follow the world and history of Thoroughbred horse racing. Is there something different about this race which merits speedy deletion? If there is a criterion for a race that can be included and a race that can't, I ask with all due respect that you help me understand what that is. The race has been on wikepedia for quite some time. Today I added a tag on its discussion page that I ought to have added a long time ago. And suddenly it is to be speedily deleted? As you are an editor and I am not, please, help me understand this. JiggeryPokery (talk) 00:33, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
I don't understand. I did not create a new article. The race article has existed for some time. All I did today was go into the existing article's discussion page and add a thoroughbred tag to indicate it was part of the Thoroughbred horse topic on wikipedia, and a California tag to indicate it's a part of what interests Californians. The information on the race page is as much as can be found on many race pages. I spend quite a bit of time time trying to find the winners and winning jockies on some race pages, but when I do, I add them. Or if I find some bit of history pertinant to the race, for example: an very famous racehorse made his or her first start in this race. Other than that, the article is there and added to as things come in. It is not a new article and was never before considered for speedy deletion. I think there is some confusion here about the actual article and its discussion page which has the only two tags I added today.JiggeryPokery (talk) 01:40, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Transcend
@ Iced Kola, I do not get it, where the products are being mentioned? Now they are being mentioned in the infobox, because I added them. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 13:08, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
