Hug Point

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hug Point is a headland on the northern Oregon Coast, in the U.S. state of Oregon. It is just south of Cannon Beach and north of Oswald West State Park. The headland extends into the ocean at high tide. Before U.S. Route 101 was built, stagecoaches had to travel on the beach and "hug" the point to get around it.

Hug Point State Recreation Site, part of the Oregon State Parks system, includes the beach surrounding the point.
