[edit] Clarification required

The school is referred to as a "public school" - does that mean in the sense of a state school or as in a fee-paying independent school - see Public school#England, Wales, & Northern Ireland. This is an important difference because to US readers a "public school" is a publicly funded school, where the traditional UK meaning is the exact opposite!
