[edit] Introduction

I think Wikipedia is a great idea, attempting to provide what I've always wanted from the internet. An online encyclopedia that pulls together all kinds of factual human knowledge in one easy access place.

There are various topics that I know something about, or can refer to or have photographs of. I will add what I can, in good faith and I hope it can be put to bone-fide wider use in the wider-world for centuries to come. Whilst working on Wikipedia, I have discovered many interesting new things and made dozens of links and connections that I'd either not thought about or had taken for granted previously. Adding to Wikipedia is just as educational as browsing it.

I encourage anybody referring to Wikipedia to take it for what it is, continuously under development and something of a moving target, with the potential to suffer from factual errors, important omissions, matters of opinion, duplicate articles and edit wars. Copyright issues can sometimes prevent authors from getting the most appriopriate diagrams and pictures into the encyclopedia, so you may have to search these out yourself.

The reader should be prepared to cross refer anything seen in Wikipedia against other sources before taking it as a hard fact. If you discover anything is incorrect or incomplete, please be bold edit the document yourself, referencing to the sources that you've used.

You may find that editing Wikipedia is a frustrating experience sometimes, but you will also discover that it is very satisfying when you make changes that stick.

The final word of caution with Wikipedia is that some fictional subjects such as The Tardis generate so much interest that their pages grow to a length and attain a level of authority that is totally disporoportionate to their real worth. What is essentially the product of somebody's vivid imagination, science fiction, acquires a fact-like feel which could easily mislead the unwary reader.

[edit] Gallery of my photo's

Some of these images have been scanned from old faded photo's that were originally taken on a simple 110 format camera, or a 1920's Box Brownie. They are not of the best quality perhaps, but they are still of some use on Wikipedia as they show images which are impossible to recapture and have some historical interest. I've included them on the principle that a picture is worth a thousand words.

There are also some new pictures taken especially for Wikipedia using a digital camera, which are of much better quality.
