[edit] My Name Is Earl

I'm pretty sure that an episode of Mr Name Is Earl, Randy imagines that he is a hero, and Pufnstuf is his sidekick. Murrawhip 10:48, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Marijuana references?

I find it odd that there is zero mention of the obvious marijuana references in the show, as outlined here: http://www.cannabisculture.com/articles/2926.html —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.142.51.145 (talk • contribs) 14:48, 21 June 2005 (UTC).

[edit] *Shove*

I'm suprised that noone has mentioned H.R. Shovenstuff, a nonexistant person that people will alude to when being pushed around. Jim Carrey says "Who are you, H. R. SHOVENSTUFF?" when he is being pushed into a car in Ace Ventura 2.

[edit] The movie

Heh heh...I just saw the Pufnstuf movie on Moviepix last night and became an instant fan. Someone should write an article about it, it's right hilarious. I can't believe I laughed so hard at a kiddy movie, it's just great. The funniest character has to be the Nazi Rat, "Jawohl, mein leader !". X-D -Voievod 17:32, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Homestarrunner Connection

"The popular website Homestarrunner.com may have gotten some of its ideas from H.R Pufnstuf." However interesting, this statement sounds like conjecture at present and potentially in conflict with the No Original Research Policy. Have either of the creators of Homestarrunner.com acknowledged any influence? If so, it would be best to cite this. At the very least, a source is certainly required, IMHO. Anagrammarian 21:29, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

Please see: http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php/unnatural for a reference to "H.R. Hurricanesnstuff".

[edit] Name origins?

It seems like one time I had heard someone on a talk show referring to the name origin of H.R. Pufnstuf. Maybe they said something like the H.R. stood for "Happy Releasing Pufnstuf"? And was a reference to marijuana smoking? Anyone? --Frenkmelk 14:38, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Merging Witchiepoo into this article

I can't see any sensible reason to have a seperate, 2-sentence-long article for this character. Even Pufnstuf, the main character, doesn't have a seperate article. Unless anyone objects, I'll redirect it back here. Psychonaut3000 00:29, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

Sounds right to me. Jordan Brown 23:14, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

Yes, merge Witchiepoo to this article.Dogru144 16:57, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

I agree too, so I've merged it now. Masaruemoto 20:34, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Spike McKensie

Who is Spike McKensie (or McKenzie), and why is a reference to an Australian college student's project attached to this (or any) article? Assuming Mr. McKensie inserted this himself, can he or anyone else offer any good reasons why it shouldn't be deleted? Proptology 14:33, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

The film looks surprisingly well-made for a student project; sets, costumes, editing, etc. It doesn't deserve an entire chapter though so I've removed nearly all of it. If you want to go ahead and remove the remainder I'm not bothered. Masaruemoto 01:11, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Schedule

I've removed the following text from the introduction, it's too much detail in an article like this and slows the article down from the start. I've moved it here if anyone really wants to read about ABC's scheduling in 1972. ABC then carried repeats of the series on Saturday mornings from September 16, 1972 to September 8, 1973. From September 16, 1973 until September 1, 1974 ABC offered the show to affiliates on their 90 minute Sunday Morning kids' lineup, which were a mix of reruns of cartoons and children's shows canceled from the previous season. Half the ABC affilates preempted the Sunday morning lineup for either religious shows or syndicated cartoons or both, so from 1973-74 it was seen in about half the TV markets. 172.189.73.150 18:54, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

It should be mentioned that people could still watch Pufnstuf for many years after what the article currently indicates; Here is video evidence that 'Pufnstuf n Friends' was on NBC Sat. morning lineup again by 1978. 70.105.20.208 19:42, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Pufnstuf.jpg

Image:Pufnstuf.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:09, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] origins of Pufnstuf

Is it worth mentioning that the Pufnstuf character (well, the costume, anyway) was not original to this program? I do not recall whether the character had a name, but he appeared in the Krofft production that appeared as one of the exhibits (Coca-Cola's, I believe) of the San Antonio world's fair in 1968. 172.162.202.253 05:42, 14 June 2007 (UTC)RKH

  • Yes, that should be in the article. I've found a reference for that so I'll add it. Pufnstuf 18:04, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
