Coul it possibly be,Guardner ist named after Billy GUY and Carl GARDNER from the 50ties and 60ties Band The Coasters? It seems hardly coincidential that those names appear adjacent to one another...

In Superman: TAS, Season 3, The Brightest Day, the thief that tries to steal Jimmy Olsen's camera at the beginning of the episode bears a striking resemblence to Guy.

I think it would be a good idea to include some information on his interactions in the Superbuddies runs. It might be hard to pin down a place in the timeline, but he did have Sinestro's ring. I'll dig out my issues and trades later. --waffle iron 19:27, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

He did not have Sinestro's ring during the Superbuddies arc. While never explained, he did not have a green ring on, but was able to create green-energy constructs. It was never explained. And completely off topic, probably never will be. On another note, while he was alway portrayed as a boor, Giffen was good enough to give us flashes of insight into the character which gave him quite a bit of depth. The article should reflect that.
I Can't Believe It's Not The Justice League should not be considered 'removed from continuity' unless anyone has any citation for the matter. Without the citation it's either unexplainable, or a retcon. I also think it makes sense to try and figure out where these stories could be placed- a good spot might be right before Identity Crisis.. *shrug* I think the new Guy Gardner book is expected to shed light on all these issues.camtin 20:40, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

Unless I missed it, Guy's mother is still alive. She's listed as dead in the article. Major Force tried to kill her but she was away on a casino junket and killed the house-sitting neighbour thinking it was her.

Do we know for a fact that Ganthet offered the last ring to Guy first? My interpretation of that story was that Guy was simply bragging to his guests at Warriors and that this might not actually be true. Then again, I could be wrong. Thoughts? Rajah1 07:41, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Comic book articles are supposed to deal in present tense, as they are fiction.
Example 'Superdude runs to the Washington Monument and saves Reporter Lady from Fish-Head'. Not 'Superdude ran to the Washington Monument and saved Reporter Lady from Fish-Head'. Lots42 14:58, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

I think there should be more information about Guy's 'Warriors' club. His life and times there were very important to him, not to mention a whole bunch of other superheros. Supergirl, Fire, Phantom Stranger, all the heros who came by to visit. It was where Arisa's wake was held.

Also, all the Warriors staff who became Guy's friends and didn't have anything to do with the JLA. I'd add all this info myself but the last time I did it was deleted.

  • merge/nom - The section that was split from original article by an ambitious editor to form a new "Alternate versions" article for all the characters. This section was already limited, and does not need to be split off to form a stub article. It's a detriment to the original article, and at this point the alternate versions article does not need to exist. 66.109.248.114 21:26, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
  • support remerge - these should have never been split, especially w/o discussion. Characters like Gardner and Stewart were never THE Green Lantern, only A Green Lantern -- 69.182.73.240 05:41, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
  • support merge -- User:Redhead911 unilaterally created article without discussion with other editors, circumventing the consensus process. --Tenebrae 19:39, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Support merge - As noted above, the characters are not alternate versions Green Lantern, they are other characters who have used the name green lantern. And based on the page's current criteria, it would eventually duplicate Green Lantern. - jc37 21:23, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Support - As per above. Also, as with most of the resent bold splits (lots of alts and other media), this took what could be seen as a relevant section and made it into what comes close to a "Trivia only" article. - J Greb 22:05, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Gardner then went to college, working his way through to support himself, and emerging from the University of Michigan with bachelor's degrees in education and psychology. One of his closest friends at U of M was John Henry Irons.
