Goychay (city)

Goychay (Göyçay) is the capital of Goychay rayon, Azerbaijan. As of December 2004 the urban population was 35,344[1]
Concerted settlement dates back to the late 1850's following the devastating 1859 earthquake in Shemakha, though the town was only officially incorporated as such in 1916[2].
