[edit] Under Armenian Control
Jrakn is often refered as the loneliest village in all of Nagorno Karabakh. Currently Jrakn have a population of 2. The only inhabitants are Sanasar(64 y.o) and Gohar Karapetian(59 y.o). The nearest human habitation is the village of Norashen, a veritable metropolis by comparison, with a population of 100 people living in new houses built by the New York-based charity the Armenian General Benevolent Union. Jrakn is situated at a distance of 200 metres from Norashen. Armenian General Benevolent Union plans to build 20 houses in the village by 2008. Another village called Pareshen is also located within the former district [1][2]Pictures.
