[edit] Asian?

Is she Asian? --DrBat 02:14, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

No, she is ethnically Jewish --Godheval 18:21, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Jewsih is as religion not an ethnicity so she is "ethnically" American

[edit] Clean-up

In trying to clean up this article - mostly organizing the information into sections, because it looked like a continuous ramble - certain scraps of information had to be removed, because they simply didn't fit anywhere. They also weren't terribly relevant to Gertrude as a character. There was a double-reference to her relationship with Chase, which I put all into one section. There was a comment about her looking and acting like Daria, which is a matter of opinion, and not at all relevant unless Vaughn stated that Daria was an inspiration or something to that effect. I may have to fix a few more things, but I think it's good enough now to remove the clean-up tag. ---Godheval 18:25, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Avengers Box?

Do you guys think that Gert and Victor deserve to be placed in that giant box of Avengers members since they are members in an alternate future?--Radaar 23:02, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Redirect

Arsenic (comics) and Gert Yorkes should redirect here.

[edit] Time Paradox...

There is no way that the death of Gertrude can actually last forever, as we already know she survives long enough to become an adult in the future, and goes back in time to warn the current members of impending doom. Coolgamer 14:49, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

And that's not how Time Travel works in the Marvel Universe, for every time one travels tot he past, it, in essence, is of a new universe. Marvel goes with the "many worlds" theory of time travel in order to rectify parodoxes. It's why the Marvel Universe (616) hasn't become the Age of Apocalypse. -- Majin Gojira

[edit] Name

I can tell that Vaughan is a fan of old movies as with his using the title "Arsenic and Old Lace" as a sort of code name for Gertrude. I was doing some reading last night on the evolution of film and it spoke about Winsor McCay in 1914 doing a live performance with animation. In his performance he interacted with an animated dinosaur named Gertrude. This event is considered one of the first known well-known usages of animation in film. Since the connection with old film, the usage of dinosaurs and the name - I'm led to believe that Gertrude Yorkes may have been named after this event. It's quite probable but I wasn't going to risk putting it in. Maybe someone else who's in charge of this article can take liberties with that.Abrynkus 17:02, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Gertdeath.PNG

Image:Gertdeath.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
