In modern Azerbaijani spelling, the name is Qara Qarayev, which transliterates precisely into English. Considering that Qarayev was also known by Russian transliteration of his name Karaev, spelling Qarayev in English in consistency with Azeri original would be better. [edit] Rewrite

Rewrote the page, following WP:STYLE. Removed personal essay sections and merged information to create a biographical encyclopedic article. Essay tag is no longer relevant, so removed that as well. Atabek 06:18, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
