Garrett Township is located in Douglas County, Illinois. The population was 1,478 at the 2000 census.

Garrett Township covers an area of 52.43 square miles and contains one incorporated settlement, Garrett. According to the USGS, it contains four cemeteries: Lewis, Lower Lester, Taylor and Upper Lester.
