This is a list of articles with subjects included in Chambers Biographical Dictionary (5th edition 1990), with their class. Names are given per the Wikipedia articles, but in the order of the Dictionary. This list is intended as a resource for WikiProject Biography in order to summarise the significance of various articles.

The idea is that almost all of the articles in this list are worthy of at least B-class status. True, all articles in Wikipedia are worthy of that, but these perhaps are more well-known and more likely to have the information. If you're not feeling like hugely expanding an article, I would hazard a guess that many of the B-class articles here are very close to GA status; some of them probably only need a nomination.

Another note: I don't recognise A-class. It is utterly ridiculous. The lack of a review process on the vast majority of WikiProjects (the excellent WP:MILHIST an exception) makes them completely unreliable, and placing them above GA class is undermining what I'm trying to achieve (all articles to GA). Therefore, I rate all A-class articles (which are never rated thus by all the WPs they're covered by) as the rating that they're given by another WP.

I aim to update this around every six months, but any changes anyone else notices could be noted on the talk page of this page (not any of the other letters) and I'll update it.
