Fred S. Sefton was the Akron Zips men's basketball head coach from 1916-24 and 1926-27. In his first stint with Akron, he guided the team to a 92-27 record. In his second stint, he guided the team to 11-15.

Sefton was also the head coach of Akron's football program from 1915-1923.
