[edit] FF website
This isn't related to the wiki article directly, but does anybody know what the hell is going on with the FF website? Its been offline for several days now.

The forums read, "we're switching over to vbulletin (thanks Joe!), be back soon -FB" I'm not sure why that is effecting the website though. Jwitch 16:46, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
That is a bit misleading - that's the message they had up several months ago when they actually made the move to vBulletin, which has been working for ages now. Stephen --194.46.236.161 18:10, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
FF will never come out, surely you guys must have worked that out by now?TheBeautifulGame 10:45, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
The website's back now after about a week of downtime. No message about WTF happened on it. Forums are still AWOL. I did kind of lose faith in them then they couldn't even get it released in 2006 :/ Stephen --193.95.173.238 12:03, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
It's not back, www.fortress-forever.com doesnt work and forums.fortress-forever.com shows a fucked up version of what used to be the front page. And I stand by my statement that this will never get released, can we add it to the article? TheBeautifulGame 14:43, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
It is back - I think you might be experiencing delayed DNS propagation. I guess they moved webhosts (or Burstfire moved them to a different IP or something?) and someone fucked up. Stephen--194.46.226.166 17:40, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Organising this page
I've changed the differences into 3 sections. However, ideally there would be paragraphs of text describing each class and how it has changed from TFC to FF. Then another section on movement, describing concs, bhopping, trimping, double jumping, etc. - AfterShok MikeParker123 17:08, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed. (That's why there's a cleanup template at the top.) Pretty messy article. ~ UBeR 17:25, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Maps section
Every map which has images in the media section is linked. I wonder if that's a bit overkill? While it's probably useful, it may be better to have a single link to the media section instead. From WP:EL: "Try to avoid linking to multiple pages from the same website; instead, try to find an appropriate linking page within the site." --Pizzahut2 22:17, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
- That sounds fine. ~ UBeR 22:43, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Deleted stuff
The forum posts are from December when the developers believed they may be able to get FF out in March of this year, which now is highly unlikely. Thus these references are now useless. Since these forum posts were the only references, the section was empty. Empty sections should be deleted imho. The need for a history section, if there actually is any, can be expressed in other ways, e.g. mentioning it in the discussion of the article. --Pizzahut2 01:08, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
On top of this, the text which these references were refering to, has been removed (and rightly so). See here. --Pizzahut2 01:20, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Credits?
Is this page a movie ad? why is half of the page credits? --Voidvector 02:41, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, we can and definitely should remove it. It's pretty much unnecessary trivia. Games usually don't list all their makers. :-) ~ UBeR 04:07, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Rewrite the article
We should write the article so readers who are not familiar with TFC can get a hang of what the game is about. Right now, the article mostly deals with how it differs from TFC or is the same; for people who don't know TFC, this is rather confusing and non-helpful. they'd have to read the Team Fortress Classic article before they could see how FF is different. ~ UBeR 04:20, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Notable mentions
Does anyone know the year/issue/page of the game magazine articles? --Pizzahut2 23:17, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
I've moved this old comment I wrote from the article page: "To prove notability of Fortress Forever and thus avoiding a deletion of this article, add awards, reviews, Mod DB ranking and such, see Dystopia (computer game)#Awards." In retrospect, notability is important, but it isn't everything. --Pizzahut2 23:35, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] HL2 Mod
Why isn't this article in the Half-Life 2 Mod category? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.187.6.176 (talk • contribs) 04:48, 20 July 2007
This article has previously been deleted simply because the mod hasn't been released yet, this happened at the time to many mod articles. The reasoning being that unreleased mods are not notable enough for Wikipedia. There were only few exceptions, e.g. the Black Mesa(:Source) mod. So it's probably best to wait until the mod is released, or if you're paranoid even wait until there are some reviews out which can be added to the Notable mentions section. However, the mod has already been added to the List of Half-Life 2 mods, so might as well add the category. --Pizzahut2 16:45, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
