Florida's 9th congressional district encompasses most of rural eastern Hillsborough County, northern parts of Pinellas County, including Clearwater, and the Gulf coast of Pasco County, including New Port Richey. It is currently represented by Republican Gus Bilirakis. George W. Bush received 57% of the vote in this district in 2004. The district has a Cook Partisan Voting Index score of R +4.
