[edit] Welcome to the Military history WikiProject!
Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WPMILHIST Announcements}} there.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- We've developed a number of guidelines for article structure and content, template use, categorization, and other issues that you may find useful.
- The project's monthly newsletter will normally be delivered as a link, but several other formats are available.
There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—and wherever—you'd like:
- Additional reviewers for the military history peer review and A-Class review processes are always needed!
- Our requests page has extensive lists of requested articles, images, maps, and translations.
- All project members are invited to help with this fortnight's project collaboration.
- We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, periods, and conflicts.
- The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every military history article in Wikipedia.

You mentioned you could upload some unique pictures of naval vessels. You don't have to identify them prior to uploading, I can get enough experienced editors to do the job, once a picture is available. Implemented in an article it can look like in Mongol bow (including some misunderstanding) or Indian Wars. While we (mostly me) think it is a great thing (contrary to the long frustrating negotiations for images that can not keep up with the rapid expansion of articles and new requests), it would require some people to use it and not overdo it. You just have to google missing images and insert the url with a short description. I would really appreciate it, especially for the feedback. Thank you a lot.
