[edit] Herbert (Family Guy)
This character has had their own page for a while, but with the episode "The Courtship of Stewie's Father", he has achieved a level of notability at least equal to that of Jonathan Weed (Peter's dead boss, who we'll never see again.)
Herbert's rendition of "Somewhere That's Green" from Little Shop of Horrors (while dressed as Audrey during a dream sequence), and finally going on a date with Chris Griffin, imply that he's going to be around for a while.
I'll leave it to Some Other Editor to delete Jonathan Weed from the template, preferably to be replaced by Some Other Character when they become more notable. —72.75.93.205 (talk | contribs) 06:52, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] New England Patriots
Some sports fan (according to their contributions) added a link to the article for this football team to {{Family Guy}} because they appeared in one episode of the show ... by doing that, every article that included this template was listed under What links here for the Patriots article (including all of the characters who had nothing whatsoever to do with the team or that episode) ... perhaps this post will disuade other WikiNewbies from adding fancruft to other Templates. <Sigh!> —72.75.93.131 (talk · contribs) 08:14, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
- Eh, some people just get overzealous at times. Jmlk17 08:58, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
- Perhaps a Patriots fan even? :) Jmlk17 08:58, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Brown Family
Given how little there is on the Loretta Brown and Cleveland Brown, Jr. articles, and the fact that both have effectively left the show, I think that they should be combined like the Swanson family and Pewterschmidt family as Brown family and simply listed that way in the template ... Cleveland Brown would still have his own article, like Joe Swanson ... some editor who is more of a fan than I am can make the magic happen. —72.75.105.165 20:44, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Tom Tucker (Family Guy)
There should definitely be an article for this character. He appears in lots of episodes, and had major roles in episodes like "The Kiss Seen Around the World", "Mother Tucker" and "Stewie B. Goode". —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 206.66.217.142 (talk) 22:01, 2 January 2007 (UTC).
- Someone created a page for Tom Tucker (Family Guy), so I am going to replace Jonathan Weed in the template. --72.75.126.37 08:45, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
- Good work. Jmlk17 08:56, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Swanson
Why on earth isn't the swanson family given a family section on this template, when they are far more important than the goldmans? 124.189.227.80 01:22, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
- They are on the now...Jmlk17 08:56, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Kathy Griffin
I have removed this actress from the template ... she was only mentioned in one episode, and the "What links here" for her article listed every article in which this template appears (see "New England Patriots" comment above) ... I'll just cite Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons if you want a policy reason for the removal. --72.75.126.37 10:08, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Look
I don't know, maybe it's just me, but the whole look of the template is just, well, unappealing to me. I know looks aren't everything, but couldn't it be spruced up with some color or something? Jmlk17 08:55, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] The Character Page
I have thoroughly cleaned up the character page and I believe we can add it back on the Family Guy template. You can take a look at it here. Let me know what you all think. Saget53 00:41, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Why was the previous format abandoned?
Centering this list makes it really ugly and harder to read. Why was it changed from this style? I don't see any advantage, and AFAIK no comment was made explaining this change. / edg ☺ ★ 12:16, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Centered-text reversions
The only advantage I can see to the centered-text version is that is doesn't include several characters that should have articles, and instead includes information on notable topics like some of the actors.
My suggestion would be to make those content changes on this template and reoganize accordingly, but keep the existing format for readability. That is a change I would support. / edg ☺ ★ 20:12, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
- a version with the center-text content, but in {{Navbox Television}} format. It's a bit long. We could:
- Remove the voice actors, since Voice Actors is linked at the bottom.
- Default to hidden.
- Keep it long.
- Any preferences? / edg ☺ ★ 20:41, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Should we add "Blue Harvest" to the DVD section?
As many of you may or may not know, there was a DVD release for the Star Wars parody episode "Blue Harvest." That being the case, you should probably consider adding it to the template under "DVDs and CDs," with a link to the episode itself. Immblueversion (talk) 22:36, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- I think of "Blue Harvest" as just another episode, released early to DVD. The Simpsons have had mix-and-match DVD releases for a while, so it is not unusual for episodes to have a DVD releases outside the Seasonal box sets. Episodes so release remain made-for-TV productions in part of the series. / edg ☺ ☭ 23:11, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Voice Actors
I believe that the list of voice actors should be formatted to have just the main actors, and then have a link to the page with all the other recurring voice actors. Immblueversion (talk) 16:24, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
