[edit] Cheshire Portal, etc

Thanks for all the excellent work you are doing with the portal, particularly in keeping it up to date. I see that Runcorn (my home town) features well this month.

You may have noted that, having ensured that all the Cheshire Grade I and II* listed churches have articles, I have been working through the other Grade I listed buildings in Cheshire. I may have sometimes strayed into your territory (geographically), so please correct/expand anything you know about in your area. It would be good to have at least a stub on Crown Inn, Nantwich, and as you have the necessary info, wonder if you wold like to have a go at it, when convenient. And while we're at it, why don't you go for featured list for Listed buildings in Nantwich, Cheshire? The Greater Manchester Project has succeeded in getting quite a number of lists featured and I think the Nantwich one is as good as most of them and better than some. Best wishes. Peter I. Vardy (talk) 16:50, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

I've just spotted your article on Crown Inn, Nantwich. Quick work - and a good article too! Peter I. Vardy (talk) 21:13, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Anglicanism portal

Please act in good faith and either reverse you opposition or offer specific specifications for a support. An editor has proposed a word count, please comment on it. Your opposition on the basis that the summaries are "too long" is unhelpful and, according to policy, we all may ignore it in this discussion. I hope to read your opinion on this matter soon. Best, -- Secisek (talk) 20:15, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Steven Gabbe

Thank you for the support, and for tips on how to become a more effective wiki contributor. Much appreciated. As for the Gabbe article, it has been quite an eye-opening experience! Nevertheless, it appears the article's most vocal critic (and, actually, personal critic) is qworty, who seems to have a history of using inflammatory language within his capacity as an admin. All others who have weighed in on the talk page have voted to "keep" the Gabbe page...some have even tried to defend my fragile self from qworty's comments ;) All the best, and thanks again. -- Nafeh9 (talk) 17:31, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Deleted Article

On February 1, 2008, the article entitled Gameplasma was deleted. As you are one of the admins on the list for getting the text for review, I was wondering if there was a way I could see the article because I think that either it was wrongly deleted, or I can fix it to make it acceptable. I'm not quite sure what I should do as far as this matter is concerned, so I figured I would just ask you.

Awaiting reply, --GPJCollins (talk) 19:05, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

I appreciate the help. The part I am confused about is that the "copyrighted" material was posted on Wikipedia by the same guy who created it on the Gameplasma website. Therefore the copyright infringement wasn't copyright infringement after all. But I will do what you suggested and try to get it back up. Again, I appreciate the help. GPJCollins (talk) 21:57, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

if you don't mind can you please explain me your comment please-

your comment- ...Some of the "Things to do" bullets read a little oddly in the context of a portal and perhaps could be reserved for the Wikiproject (and should bullets 3 & 4 be indented?)....
sorry to act stupid but my english is sick.! Sushant gupta (talk) 15:59, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] DYK

...is late, can you post it? Gatoclass (talk) 11:37, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure why you needed to tell me three times, but thanks anyhow :)
I notified half a dozen admins but none were active, fortunately Borgqueen eventually saved the day. Gatoclass (talk) 13:14, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
Four times now. Are you having a problem with software or something? Gatoclass (talk) 13:15, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Featured portal candidates/Portal:Textile Arts

Thanks for your comments, I believe I have addressed all of the points that you brought up. Cirt (talk) 11:04, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Okay, replied to that point. Cirt (talk) 11:23, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Question

I see you're editing the T:TDYK page, so I figured you'd know the answer to this question. If I work on an article in my sandbox and when it's finished, move it to the mainspace, is it still eligible for DYK because the edit history now shows the article being over 5 days old? Thanks. APK yada yada 11:04, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] DYK nom of Bolton and Leigh Railway

The second reference on the Lancashire Witch article states that she was the first built by Robert Stephenson and Company. If you look at the talk page for the Robert Stephenson and Company article, you will see that I have raised the question there. I also raised it at WP:UKT too. I will provide an alternative hook for the nom. Mjroots (talk) 11:09, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Alternative hook written. Mjroots (talk) 11:15, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
Yes, that's a good hook you've written. I couldn't believe there was so little on the B&L, considering that it opened before the Canterbury and Whitstable and the Liverpool and Manchester, which are both much better known! Mjroots (talk) 12:06, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
I've edited the Sans Pareil article so that it corresponds with the hook. Mjroots (talk) 12:28, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
No problem with the wait, as long as it doesn't go on in the wee small hours when the UK is asleep! Tomorrow morning will be fine. Mjroots (talk) 13:19, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Quirinus Kuhlmann

You have selected the article for the DYK section (and its talk page has the relevant template), but, according to the template's archive, the article wasn't featured on the main page after all. Did something go wrong? Art Serebren (talk) 18:16, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] DYK update

[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Paramax

I note that you deleted the this article around 25 minutes after I had rewritten it to address concerns of length and referencing. I would ask you to undelete and reopen the AfD so that my changes could be taken into account. Thanks. Espresso Addict (talk) 13:02, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

I guess I will, since you asked. Stifle (talk) 13:07, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the heads-up. It's much better now. Please review the slight changes I made. It's written at a very high medicalese level so I tried to clarify what the analgesic med was for (headache) and what an antiemetic is for (nausea). Thanks, Renee (talk) 00:25, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you

I've read your intervention about the deletion of the article "Pier Augusto Gemignani". I was the creator of that page, and I think the deletion was inappropriate, since Gemignani's works were quite important for the History of Medecine and the voyage of Columbus. I don't think I will redo the article again, since I have some references in italian scientific magazines, but none of them has a website or something, so I guess the staff won't like the article to be rebuilt, but I wanted anyway to thank you for your support.--Gimmy (talk) 13:09, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Grade I listed buildings in Cheshire

Thanks for your additions to this list. How on earth did I overlook St Mary's Church, Nantwich? Thanks for the image of Dorfold Hall (it's not too bad) - any picture is better than none, and improvements can always be made as better images become available. I am considering offering Chester Castle as a GAC. What do you think? Do you have any improvements or additions to make to it? Peter I. Vardy (talk) 16:19, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
