Eric Nystrom (born February 14, 1983) is an American ice hockey left winger and the son of former National Hockey League player Bob Nystrom.
On January 11th 2008, Nystrom suffered a broken jaw. He was sent down to the Quad City Flames of the AHL on January 23rd, 2008.
He is currently one of the top prospects for the Calgary Flames.
Nystrom made his NHL debut on October 10, 2005, against the Colorado Avalanche.
He split his 2005–06 season between the Calgary Flames and the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights of the AHL.
Nystrom attended the Calgary Flames training camp in 2006, but suffered a shoulder injury. Once he recovered, he was re-assigned to Omaha, but played in only six November games before missing several months of play.
At the start of the 2007–08 season, Nystrom was recalled early in the season and recorded his first NHL goal on October 30, 2007, in a 5–1 win against the Nashville Predators at 14:29 in the third period.
Nystrom is a huge movie buff. His favorite movie is Dirty Dancing.
