[edit] Reverting vandalism

When you discover a vandalism edit and want to revert it, please watch out for previous edits by the same user. In this case you only reverted one of two consecutive vandalism edits, which caused unsourced information about George W. Bush's penis size to stand in the article for almost two days. Regards, High on a tree 21:27, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] FYI

Concerning your edits to Sean Hannity; I just wanted to make sure you knew that adding {{sprotected2}} doesn't actually semiprotect the page, it just adds a template at the top saying the page is protected. I have removed this template because it has the possibility to deter legitimate edits from anon or new users and could create confusion later if the page really does need to be protected. If you think a page needs to be protected, you can request it here. Also, there are some templates here you can use to warn vandals.--Mbc362 16:02, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Chicagoland

Why was this edit termed "vandalism"? It was certainly poorly written (with a missing parentheis and at least one misspelling), but it was also accurate; Lake County, Indiana is considered part of Chicagoland, i.e., the Chicago Metropolitan Area, as these links will quickly show. I will await your response, in case I am missing something, before I revert. Unschool 22:32, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Huckabee

I simply reverted the page. A.J.A. 20:49, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I see you've noticed the trouble on the Mike Huckabee article. To be clear, what AJA did was revert multiple users and multiple edits. AJA has a significant problem with a well sourced section of the page, dealing with Huckabee's resistance to involving himself in a highly controversial case. AJA has reverted it for lacking citation, which was fixed, and notability, which was argued by another editor, and which AJA casually dismissed, then reverted again. No attempts to engage him on the article's talk page works, and instead he ahssles me on my user talk. he's not interested in allowing the criticism in any way, as he's made it clear that he will not allow Huckabee to be criticised in any ways which he thinks he can wedge in a way to remove it. So long as he can find a way to remove the criticisms, he can and will. I suggest you review the talk page and the edit histories for a better understanding, if you're interested. You'll see that ai.kefu also tried to engage him, and has since decided to continue to just revert AJA's edits until AJA uses the article's talk page. ThuranX 22:37, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Ironically ,I'm not actually that interested in all the candidates, and since Wikipedia is NOT a democracy, there's no reason for voting. It's a whitewash of ALL candidates to not have criticism sections. IF you can REALLY see something POV in the West Memphis 3 criticism, I invite you, as someone OUTSIDE the situation, to please explain on the talk so that it can be worked on. AJA long ago stopped working cooperatively and became combative. A new voice might draw him back into discussion. ThuranX 22:54, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Once again, I invite you, as an outside editor, to examine the article. This is getting ridiculous. Both myself(my political views are my own) and a self-declared Republican, User:ai.kefu[1], have been lobbying (pardon the pun), to keep in the section about the West Memphis 3. A.J.A. initially objected on grounds of NPOV[2], where he announced his biases, and lack of citation[3]. The section was reworked and citations found. He then engaged in removals citing lack of notability[4]. ai.kefu wrote a lengthy reply on the hucakbee talk page[5], and A.J.A.'s response was to 'dismiss it'[6], in his own words. He maintains a version of the article on his own talk page in which much of the criticism is conspicuously absent, User:A.J.A./Tohu&Bohu/Huckabee, and it appears he has no intentions of ever standing down on this, no matter what sources, style of writing, or what-have-you is done. i recommend you review the history of article and talk, and you can see where multiple attempts to engage him were made, which he thoroughly ignores. Now that this issue is getting wider regard, he's starting to act as though he's the wounded and wronged editor here. In reality, for days on end it's been a matter of asking him to respond on the page's talk. He wouldn't he just took out the section. after a while, I started calling it what it was, blanking. Now he's playing the 'offended editor' card, claiming I need to apologize to him. He won't back down, and he won't give any clear arguments. His idealized page version makes it clear his' incredibly biased towards Huckabee. I don't give a hoot about Huckabee, I care about including well-sourced criticism of Huckabee's positions regarding his state's legal system and so on. ThuranX 21:54, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply. What I posted on my own talk page was:Well, I got so sick of it, I took it to AN/I. I've tried talking, ai.kefu tried talking. He refuses to acknowledge anything not in his favor. I really am at my end on this. He won't talk about it, he repeats the same mantras, and that idealized page version really seems like agenda-oriented behavior to me. ThuranX 22:22, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Barack Obama conversely question

Hi Eisenmond. Thanks for your help with this, and your encouragement. Someone has changed the sentence back to "conversely". I have a feeling it might be at least partly about me and some changes I've made to other articles. Could you take a look and maybe change it to whatever you prefer, maybe giving it a little time for things to cool down? Thanks. Steve Dufour 22:57, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, maybe a false alarm. I see the other editor has been doing a lot of work on the Obama article, not stalking me as I suspected. Steve Dufour 23:04, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism

Congratulations on the vandal fighting. You are doing a good job. Please remember to substitute the warning template by adding a subst: before the template: {{subst:uw-vandalism1}}. It helps alleviate the burden on the servers. Thanks. IrishGuy talk 21:18, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Global Warming

Curiously, when trying to end an edit war I think you managed to start one! Before there wasn't really an edit war, just one aggressive POV editor, who had just reached his third RR in a couple of hours versus a handful of WP:1RR people like me. Perhaps you should also join the WP:1RR club even though you were clearly trying to help. Ah, well. --BozMo talk 10:05, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Michael Savage (commentator)

I would appreciate a reply. Thanks--Mbc362 16:31, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

I waited 3 days and saw that you did make an edit after I posted on the talk page (meaning you were at least occasionally checking what was going on) and I wanted to make sure you didn't miss my message on the talk page. Please take no offense.--Mbc362 14:19, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
