Egyptian Super Cup

The Egyptian Super Cup is an Egyptian association football trophy contested in an annual match between the champions of the Egyptian Premier League and the winners of the Egyptian Cup. If a team wins The Double (both the Premier League and the Cup), then the Double winner plays the Premier League runner-up. The match is contested one week before starting the football season, and has been played since 2000/2001.

NOTE 2005/06 * : Match was supposed to be against Zamalek after Ahly won the League title and played Zamalek in the Egyptian Cup final and won 3-0, ules of the FA is that in the Super match the winner of the league and cup should play against the runner up of the Cup's final other party, but crowd trouble and a confrontation initiated by the Zamalek President Mortada Mansour with Ahly board members and Zamalek players refusing to come out and receiving their medals led to an FA punishment of fines and bans which included the elimination of Zamalek as an opponent for Ahly in the Super Cup and replacing it is ENPPI, runner up in the league.
