[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:White_carnation.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:White_carnation.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. MER-C 05:35, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:September1962.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:September1962.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 02:55, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Flag of the Holy See.gif

Hello, Dysepsion. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Flag of the Holy See.gif) was found at the following location: User:Dysepsion. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 03:36, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fishing revisions

First of all, I would like to thank you for actively guarding our Fishing Project. I've seen all your efforts of protecting the Fishing article from those harmful vandals. I've made a major revision from all those revisions/reverts that were made previously by bots and other wikipedians because some of the important information there were lost despite the effort of each and everyone to guard the said article. Hey there, I'm just getting to know Vandal Prime, but there is a lot going on in the window. How do I know what level warning to give? And if I give the one warning that the next step is blocking, how does that happen? Thanks for the assist. EleosPrime 19:30, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
Hm, I think I got it. EleosPrime 19:44, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
I just got your reply, and I think I figured it out. In the top right of the Vandal Proof window, under all the rollback buttons, it reads: 'xxx.xxx.xx.xx has received no vandalism warnings'. Sometimes, I see one or two or three. I think it just takes some getting used to the abbreviations. Keep fighting the good fight! EleosPrime 19:48, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 28 Guildwars--sorry, you got the wrong guy

I just restarted my machine AND modem (which on my ISP gives me a new IP) and now I have this message about how "[a]t least one of [my] recent edits, such as the one you made to Guild Wars, was not constructive and has been reverted or removed..." when I have never even freaking heard of Guild Wars, far less edited that page. This messaging system needs to find a way to take dynamic IP addresses into account. No clue as to who had this IP before me, but you flagged the wrong user. Have a nice day. 72.155.102.124 00:46, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Please explain more fully

I find {{afd}}s incredibly draining. Forgive me for leaving you a message on your talk page, but I really hope you will try to explain something to me.

The article contains ten factors for and against Said Zaid's continued detention. The entire last half of the article in fact. I am really confused as to why you don't consider these "factors" to be about Said Zaid. No offense -- just cause I am confused I have to check this out -- did you think all the captives faced these same ten allegations? Well they don't.

Now, if you were told me you didn't think that the factors were individual enough to match some criteria you think is important I would (probably) disagree with you, but at least I would understand you.

But saying only the first sentence, or first paragraph, mentions him - that I don't understand.

Frankly, I can't escape the feeling that no-one is showing me the courtesy to actually read the article, or even scan it over, before casting their vote. And it is really upsetting me.

Thanks for taking one minute to answer this. Geo Swan 19:17, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Maui_Taylor_(publicity_for_Hibla_movie).jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Maui_Taylor_(publicity_for_Hibla_movie).jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 08:33, 20 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. bluemask (talk) 08:33, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Pi kappa alpha new member pin.jpg. [edit] Reverting my edits to "Xiamen"

The original text says, "Currently, there are nine Asian cities that have direct flights to Xiamen. They are Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Jakarta, Osaka, Nagoya, Tokyo, Seoul, Singapore and Bangkok. Cities outside China's mainland that have direct flights to Xiamen are Hong Kong and Macau which are situated on Guangdong province's southern border."

If one looks at the first sentence, then it seems to imply that there are no other Asian cities that have direct flights to Xiamen. This would be an incorrect conclusion as there are many Chinese cities that have direct flights to and from Xiamen. That's why I propose to add the words "non-Chinese" after the word Asian in that first sentence.

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:St. Hubert Catholic High School Seal.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:St. Hubert Catholic High School Seal.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:22, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
