Dublin County West (Dáil Éireann constituency)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
West County Dublin was a parliamentary constituency in the Republic of Ireland which from 1977–1981 returned deputies to Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Irish parliament or Oireachtas. It elected 4 Teachtaí Dála (TDs) in the 1973 election and 3 TDs in the 1977 election. Elections were held using the Single Transferable Vote method of proportional representation (PR–STV).
[edit] History
The constituency was created by the Electoral (Amendment) Act 1974, and abolished by the Electoral (Amendment) Act 1980. It was therefore used only for the 1977 general election to the 21st Dáil.
